Regarding lap times; It appears SCs are more competive with STs on some tracks than others. I dont think it was the surface because Motorama was also an indoor clay 'blue-groove' track. I suspect it has more to do more with jumps, or, the lack there of.
One thing I've noticed about SC vehicles is that they dont jump or land as well as STs so they tend to wreck more often. The jumps at the Motorama track were relatively small compared to the jumps at the Midwest Nats. It makes me wonder what the lap times were like at CRC.
Its worth noting that the guy who won the SC A Main at CRC would have also been competitive in the ST A Main that also included Tebo and Cavalieri.
With all the money and factory team developement being applied to SC its only a matter of time SC trucks perform as well or better than STs.
