4x4 Slash charger
i have a new 4x4 Slash, and so far have been using the included battery and charger. i am looking for two things:
1. an additional battery for my slash simlar or better than the one that came with it. i don't race, so cheaper is better but not if it risks my stuff.
2. a charger that will charge these batteries quicker than 8 hours, preferably much quicker. again not looking for fancy, and cheaper is better, but not if it risks my stuff.
thanks in advance

This is a peak type charger and about as cheap as they come. Its AC/DC and will do lipo when you eventually get ready for lipo. It will charge your NiMh much quicker than 8hrs, more like 45min - 1hr -

Since you're not a racer I would recommend ordering a couple of Turnigy lipos and a Turnigy charger from Hobbyking. It'll cost you about $100 and you will be able to charge a battery in 30 minutes or less and have 2 or 3 times the current run time that the Traxxas battery will give you. Also, a 7.4 lipo will make your truck feel like an animal and an 11.1V (3s) lipo will make that Slash practically fly....going lipo is your best bet. Just do yourself a favor and do a litle research. Lipos are finicky in that you have to abide by some simple rules when using them such as not discharging them too much. Good luck.

You'll need a DC power supply to go along with the charger from HC, they are DC powered. Thunder AC-6 is AC/DC and won't need a PS.
The 4x4 Velineon can be set up to run lipo - you just need to program the VXL esc to activate the lvc (low voltage cutoff). This is covered in your manual, pg 16. 4x4 comes stock with the lvc set off to run NiMh.
You don't need to add anything (except the lipo).
