If you're new to RC, the SC will hold up to mistakes a LOT better than a T4.1!
After learning on the SC, you can always move on from there, but I drive 1/8, SC, and buggy. Each is a different flavor of off-road RC cars.
1/8:
For hard, aggressive driving, no limits baby!- think sorority girl after a week at home with the parents.
Short Course:
Lotta rubbing, kinda slow, allows you to be as clumsy and make as many mistakes as you want- like riding a moped.
2wd buggy:
Light, agile, precise, & VERY sensitive to how it's handled- think ***chy model.

get the 4.1 and just drive it and replace the parts that break and just enjoy the company of the other racers that ur around
