Default What to get?

I'm going to be getting into the short course racing fad, and I was wondering what short course truck would be best for a modified class.

You think you could build a good race truck with a $500.00 budget? If so list you idea.

Slash 2WD
Slash 4WD
OFNA Hyper 10SC
AE SC10
HPI Blitz
Losi Strike

Please help.

Thanks.

race= sc10/blitz
bash= slash

if your looking for a pure race truck, sc10 all the way. but alot of people like the slash, i have had both and i dont like the slash at all. (my opinion)

people will go on for days about this subject just letting you know. lol

Thanks for your opinion.

I like the slash for Its water proof electronic (easy clean) If I want a occasional bash and how it has a battery included (but I realize I could get a nice battery set-up with the money I have saved on buying a sc10 or blitz from not buying the slash 4WD), and how it has a 4WD model, with a 2.4GHz radio, but has a lot of roll.

The Blitz has awesome speed outta box and good handling (with a little tinkering) but has a horrible RX/TX and no battery, but could get a nice battery/charger set-up on money saved if i do not buy a Slash.

The SC10 has Its awesome AE quality and performance, has a Ok RX/TX but no battery, but could get a nice battery/charger set-up on money saved if i do not buy a Slash.

Lol.

At this time I would only get a 4x4 short course, especially for mod class! The 4x4's can lay down alot more power and handle great, also you can 4 wheel drift so good sometimes it is just so awesome people trip on it! with a 2 wheel drive you just spin a 180 9 times out of 10!

Default sc

depends on what kind of track your on. don't try to run the 4x4 on carpet
the sc10 and blitz are more agile but the slash tougher. The slash tends to roll more often too.

Yea the strike seems like the retarded on of the bunch.

Notice how I didn't write anything about It.

I will be on dirt the most, maybe some carpet in the future.

I would run the slash if your outdoors. h2o proof is nice and you could do the vxl and stay h2o proof. I have a slash and once you get it setup right its a great racer.

So waterproof is good because the bearings are waterproof too right?

If you spray them down with wd40 after you run you should be fine. I would rather replace bearings than electronics.

ThunderbirdJunkie would rather replace nothing at all, so he takes the easiest course of action, which is not driving in water
