I run 30wt in front for my SC. But I am running an HPI Blitz. You may want to check the DESC210 thread for some setup tips or check out Team Durango's setup sheets. They do work. I used one of Lutz's setups for med/high bite as a base and did the minor adjustments as I drove it.

After a day of testing i was amazed. THEY WORK BETTER then the stock gullwing arms. They seem less twitchy in the center of the steering travel but they still have the same amount of steering. Over all it just felt smoother....i wonder if the new "v2' durango arms will feel the same.
The problem is that you did more than just change from a gullwing arm to a straight arm. You also changed the angle of the shocks. I know you probably didn't move them on the tower but a gullwing arm mounts the bottom of the shock lower. This means that if you drew a line from the shock bottom to the inner hinge pin, you'd have more of an angle with the gullwing arm at full travel than you would the straight arm. In order to get the straight arm to have the same effective leverage over the shock, you'd have to move the top of the shock outwards on the tower. This is why the B5 and B5M have different towers for each arm setup. You may have changed only the arms but you didn't only change one thing.

So I have a few questions, I'm not new to rc, raced just about every class, but mainly was a 1/8 buggy guy, I have a few questions regarding the rango,
In the beginning it seemed parts support was hard, has this gotten better since they have a larger distributor now?
I'm really not a losi, or associated fan. The cars do win but there molds and parts suck! I always ran X-ray, n Mugen 1/8. My reasons for looking at buggy are to have the ability of picking up a car I put down a month ago and it still be the same. And locally 1/8 is 45+ minutes away, just don't want the travel anymore. It's just something to have fun with on any given Sunday.
All of that said at its price point this is my favorite car, the parts availability just being the clencher, as I'm used to mail order that's not such a deal breaker, but if the online vendors aren't well supplied, well that could be a different story?
Also if someone could touch on differences between the original car and the V2 I would greatly appreciate it

rregl0612, wait for the v2. They basically fixed all my gripes with the old car (time consuming transmission service, stupid gullwing arms that dig into the track)...if only they were going to release a DEST210V2.
The diff in the 210 likes to be tighter than the AE or old Losi ball diffs I've run, but that's pretty much it. It's a beautiful car that builds beautifully and it doesn't slop out like the Losi or AE cars. I've got stacks and stacks of spares that I've had for almost 2 years that I haven't needed (JUST replaced my arms; never broke one, the bottoms were just scraped up, just upgraded my shock towers to CF despite never breaking them).
I have a V2 on preorder and it should be even better. I love the car, but it rewards somebody that's not afraid to tinker and tune; it is not for the people who say I'M GONNA FIND THIS SETUP ONLINE AND RUN ONLY THAT.

So, speaking from an engineering point of view, what exactly is the purpose of the 3 vs 4 gear transmission?
It obviously changes the direction of rotation from the motor to the wheels but that's really the only use I can see for it.
If someone has a technical/theoretical explanation, I would love that lol
