Selling them bare aluminum may be a better solution to get them made in a timely manner without a giant investment on my part. I'll keep everyone posted.
put me down for a buggy, possibly as SC also.

With paypal is there then a way for someone to send money without it being taken from there account until I confirm it? so it guarantied funds without me getting it until I'm about to do a run?

Does anyone know which pinion the RTR comes with? And what would be a good choice of 2-3 extra ones to play a little with gearing? I'm new to 1/10th and completely clueless about gearing in these cars :S

Thanks!

I have no idea. So what you are saying is you don't want to have a customer pay for a chassis, and then have them wait until you have enough orders to produce a run?

I would just stipulate when they purchase an item, that delivery could take up to xx days/weeks, so they know ahead of time. Or better yet, produce a small run, and then sell them until they are gone. Don't over do it, produce say 20 chassis, and sell them out before making more. Seems to be what just about all the other guys do, thats why they are always sold out of everything.

From a customer point of view, I would charge enough to make a profit, so you could start another run before the last run sells out. That way there is always stock.

My goal is to do a big enough run to get hard anodizing done (50+ chassis) and make the batch minimum. I could do a smaller run (say 25) and the anodizing would cost double upping the cost to the buyer. I'll be considering a few possibilities tomorrow night at the track with the machinist (including no anodizing) to try getting these out as soon as I can, then finalize the ST and SC chassis shortly there after.

Does the 50 include buggy, ST and SC all together or separate?

total, 50 is the minimum to meet the batch minimum, if I do half as many, it will cost twice as much per chassis

The stock gears are 81T spur and 29T pinion. Very very slow. If you plan on running the 13.5 motor that comes with it, get a 75T spur and get pinions 30-34 to go with your 29T.
The problem with just getting bigger pinions for the 81T spur is that there isn't enough room to put anything bigger than a 30T pinion on (the motor mount holes would have to be elongated). That is why you have to get a smaller spur gear.

I'm running a 75 w/ 31pinion with my 17.5 and wondered what pinion you were running with the 69? I might want to drop down.

33, 35 or 37.. Will depend on the track and/or layout you are running obviously. those have been a good range for me so far.

I'm geared at 69/32 with a 17.5T. Small/Med carpet track. You can't go smaller than a 31t with a 69 spur you can't mesh anything smaller than a 31.

I bought my GF the durango buggy for xmas so she could race with me and my boys at the track. I really like the buggy and she's definately given it the punishment test. She has the rtr version and I know she'll need some aluminum hinge pin blocks here pretty soon. Can someone give me a link? I'm looking for something cheap. rear camber block, front caster/hinge pin blocks in aluminum. Thanks!
