I'm thinking about it. For the time being I've taken my unused B44.1, chopped the front off and bolted on a spare B4 front end that I had. Unfortunately, the B44 series rear end geometry is crap so I can't really win. It's what I had lying around though. I haven't gotten it to a track but suspension travel is good, balance is good, and handling is neutral. I'm really only playing around with it.

Fred, the reason I don't switch is that there is still a lot I love about the dex. I am very comfortable with my car, and it is very easy to drive. Plus, outside of the arms I have a ton of spare parts to keep running them for years to come.
I've spent over 3 years on the car so far. That's long enough.

This might be a silly question but well here goes anyway

I have this DEX210 V1 and I like how it looks and I'll only be using it for some light bashing, so what sort og motor/ESC would you guys suggest I put in it and what pinion on a stock 87T spur?

I have a Tekin RSX ESC but I feel it's too tall if I have the fan attached for the car but I like the Tekin's ESC's and motors so what would you guys use? Would the RSX without the fan be safe to use or would it over heat?

I'm sort of a noob with this. The last thing I want is to fry an expensive ESC where I have been careless.

For bashing I liked a 10.5 to 8.5 motor very fun.

this place has suggestions for gearing:

Usually for a buggy you could do without a fan. If you are using a shorty battery. Just run your esc in front of the battery, plenty of room for esc with fan. Check the link Cain gave you for gearing. With stock 87 spur. Should be somewhere around 19 tooth +\- a few teeth depending on motor you choose. I would go with 8.5 if your stick with 87 spur.

Racing in the UK on grass and running a 9.5t I found that on the 87 spur the largest pinion is 25 which was too slow. I was only just faster than my sons rtr with 13.5. Now running 27/81 and with a little boost much better too speed.

Default SWorks Wing

SWorks S104
Anyone try this wing on your Dex210 buggy? I've heard it is indestructible. My son is destroying wings. I even got the proline Trifecta, he cracked that one too in two trips to the track.

Any other wings you guys recommend would be great?

Thanks

Did a little bit of rearranging today. I set my DEX210V3 up inline and was able to shed 32g. Can't wait to get to the track on Friday!

What type of track are you on? Let us know how it goes?? Hope your ESC doesn't get too hot. Nice job with the wiring. What's with the extra battery (?) wires coming off the esc and going around back of the battery??

Looks like a capacitor bank for the ESC.

looking forward to hearing how you like your maclan motor with that inline setup. I got one and its very nice! Working on trying different timing setting relative to gearing.

I bought my DEX210 V1 used and in the box was an X-Fly 120A ESC and mounted on the car is a Losi xcelorin 6.5T with a 31T pinion plus there was 4 standard sized 2S Hardcase LiPo packs as well.

Do any of you know the X-Fly 120A ESC? Or should I just bite the bullet and get a Tekin combo when I can afford it?

The Durango 1.5mm wings they came out with are freaking beef. I've been beating on them on both my 210F and V5 and they are holding up great. Xray makes a 2mm wing too that's pretty solid, but that might be a lot of weight that high up on the car. I'm going to buy a couple and try them out so I'll let you know how they do.

If the motor and speedo work I would run them and get a different setup when you feel you need it or just have some extra money laying around. What I would worry about is the 31t pinion on the car. I would gear it around 81/21 with a 6.5T motor. You might run into temp issues with the way its geared right now.
