I emailed Traxxas and was told to register my truck and resend the email and they would replace my parts.

When myself and 2 other friends switched to aluminum rear carriers on our 2 x 4 slashes we started to bend/break axles quite frequently. We never had any trouble when running nylon carriers.
I'm sure the breakages are from less flex in the carriers when running aluminum which transfers much more impact to the axles.
Hopefully RPM brings out some nylon carriers with toe in so we can retrofit them to the 2 x 4 slash.

Not sure which parts are interchangeable,I only have 2 x 4 slashes.
We use alloy 4-tec carriers for more toe in.

I read somewhere else that they DO NOT work on the 4x4.

I have a set of RPM rear hub carriers for the 2wd Slash, waiting to find out whether they can be installed on the Slash 4x4 PE.

here is response i got from traxxas support today

"Unfortunately no metallurgy issues have been found on any of the shafts we have received. They are just broken or bent and the only plausible culprit is impact damage."

I am not very happy with this response.

Funny, this is pretty much the opposite of what Tim Roberts said just last week at our race track.

Traxxas WILL correct this issue, just give them some time.

We had the same problem with the 2wd. They told me the same thing i think it's the same part. Cheap metal i'm guessing.

I am just passing on the information I was provided with. Traxxas is among the top customer service of any manufacturer I have dealt with - and I have dealt with them all. They sent me 2wd axles right away to get me by, and then yesterday my 4wd axles came to my mailbox.

I just want to make sure that the general public is aware of the communications I am receiving. We all deserve to know.

Has anyone heard an update as far as what they are going to do about the issue in general? Are they just sending you replacements that are just as crappy or of higher quality? Are they going to ship revised versions? if anyone knows that is

Thanks to forum members, I found out that Slash2 axles drop right in for the 4x4. No modifications necessary.

I changed out the hub carriers to RPMs made for the Slash2. It'll work if you shorter the turnbuckles, but when turning, the angles look weird. The connectors are at different heights, creating different angles.

Not a permanent fix, but they will work.

Just want to get by without having to fix it again even if it isn't the optimum setup.

When everything is figured out and settled, I'll go that way.
