Default General observation...

Over the past week I have come to realize why I enjoy racing nitro (8th Scale) so much more than electric. All summer long I ran the Spec Slash class, had a blast! But the time has come to move up to more power and better handleing so I ordered a Blitz. Our track and the next closet track in Ky allow any motor combo, up to 2 cell lipo, but you must run SC specific tires and SC bodies, so I put in a Tekin 10.5 brushless system in my blitz. Now these are both outdoor tracks and won't start back up till spring, so I decide I want to go run my Blitz indoors somewhere, so I start looking around. I have a track 2 hours from me that allows 8th scale wheels and tires but no motor limit, but they moved there offroad night to friday nights, cant get off work and make it in time to run thereNo problem, I will look a little further, Track 4hours north only allows SC wheels and tires, but only down to 17.5 motor, unless you want to run in the 4wd sc class, then no motor limit ok no problem, look a little further, another track about 5 hours north, only has 17.5 and 13.5 sc classes, so again, I am out unless I go out and buy more motors that I will never run again.
Now, lets see, I load up my 8th scale and go to the track and race..you guessed it...8th scale. Carry my Truggy and race Truggy......I really enjoy the ease of electric, but dang!!!!! I just want to race SHortcourse!!

Sorry, just wanted to race this weekend and needed to vent a little

I do agree to an extent. Depending on where you are located they will have specific motors being run. I know in michigan, at least where I am located, they like to run 13.5 and 17.5(mostly for buggys). So buy yourself a 17.5 motor and have some fun. There are places though where they run all across the board. 10.5, 13.5, 17.5....ect and that can be a pain. Novak has their new ballistic system with interchangeable rotors where you can buy a 13.5 rotor, 17.5 rotor, 10.5 rotor ect all in the same can. I know that doesn't really fix the problem but it help a little. I guess depending on where you live this can be an issue.

Also I think spending $80 on a new motor would be worth it considering nitro fuel prices, and engine prices. That $80 will last you almost a lifetime(especially Tekin, i've never seen one wear out) where as that $45 gallon of fuel will last you a month or two and that motor will only last you a certain amount of time before it needs a new piston/ sleeve or a new motor all together.

Hey DW, we were discussing how we we going to handle SCT 4x4 this next season.
I suggested we do it just like nitro buggy and truggy classes. SCT 4x4 Run what you brung and control it with a sportsman/open classes if needed.
Imagine if we had:
Nitro Buggy Spec
Nitro Buggy Mod
Nitro Buggy Open
Sounds funny Huh?

We will be having a hangover race running dirt oval at Thunder on New Years Day. Take that slash back to spec and come join us. doors @ 1PM
