Default Scale trophy Truck

hey everyone. I am thinking about trying to build a scale trophy truck. I have lots of 10 scale parts and motors so that is what i am going with. Going to try to pick up a solid rear axle of ebay and make a custom 4 link for it. Has anyone done this yet? Any suggestions or ideas? Thanks

in case you did not know, what i am considering a scale trophy truck is not like a slash or sc10 or anything out now that i know of. It will have a solid rear axle, 4 link suspension, actual working drive shaft, and a tube frame, not a plastic tray like current vehicles have. If you take the body even off of a real pro 2, which is what short course trucks are modeled from, it looks nothing like a slash or SC10.

Default trophy

I'm in the process of gathering parts for a trophy truck aswell and here http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showt...ghlight=trophy is a link of a buddys truck that is awsome and works well too. He worked at the LHS while building it and I loved to see the progress. He did his with a t3 chassis but I'm using a t1 with the alum. pan for durability and I have made it long travel front with rear shocks and new shock tower. For the rearend you need to use a wheely king axle to get the right width for a slash or sc10 body. Gearing is a bit of a problem aswell so go as tall as you can like a 30 pinion and 80 spur?. Well I hope that helps and pm me if you want to bounce Ideas off each other. Good luck.

In RC, what exactly would be the difference between a scale trophy truck and an SC truck? I ask this in particular to RC because if you look at the Traxxas TORC racing, the scale short course trucks does not look anything like our scaled down version aside from the body styling. Even the front and rear tires looked a bit different in size and dimension...

In my eyes scale is built to function and look as lifelike as possible, usually oneoff design and fab work. lots of tome building. Whereas sc trucks 1/8 buggys stadium trucks.... are built for performance
