Default Mamba Max settings for MF1 - 7700 and 4600kv

I have a 7700kv and a 4600kv motor so I'm interested in good settings for both in a XXX-T MF1. I just flashed both ESCs to v1.23(beta) using CastleLink v3.18.

The 7700 isobviously insane. I'd like to tame both motors for mod racing on a 2s SMC lipo. I won't list preference stuff like drag brake. My thoughts are in parenthesis.

7700kv:
Gearing?
Punch control? (80%)
Timing? (0)
Curves? (linear default, use 3PK if necessary)

4600kv:
Gearing?
Punch control? (default disabled)
Timing? (default 10)
Curves? (linear default, use 3PK if necessary)

As a starting point I would try minimum timing (0) on both motors and 35% punch control in the 4600 (I run 30% in my XX4 which I race) and 40% punch control with the 7700.

Avner.

Sweet. Thanks!

Do you use exp or curves too?

Thanks Ferret. I'll start with your suggested baselines. I'm still wrapping my head around some of the settings in Castle Link. I guess I'll know more after trying some things.

Ya trying some things is the best way to find what works for you. I heard over and over about how if you get the punch control and throttle curve blended just right you could make even the 7700 feel tame. It finally worked out for me when I went up to about 60% punch control and gave it a quick ramp up on the curve to kinda make up for the lag feeling of the punch control. Once you find a sweet setup you will be hooked, but it seems to be different for everyone. Keep in mind punch control can be frustrating for off-road because of the lag. Throttle control in the air sucks with anything more than about 30%, but like I said you can make some of it back with the curve.

Thanks...great info!

I'd just like to avoid the uncontrollable bottom end that makes 2wd truck so painful to drive off-road.

I'm thinking around 30% punch control and maybe just dropping throttle limit and playing with EXP, radio curves and the slipper...unless the motor feels notchy... Then I'm a slave to the esc settings.
