Does anyone have the part number for Kyosho's MP9e body that comes with the kit? I can't seem to find the part number anywhere. It might be IFB007 but I also can't find that part on amainhobbies or anywhere else for that matter.

Anyone have the 411 for me?

Default How to fit a motor with 3mm screws instead of 4mm

Hi!

I'm thinking of installing a Hobbywing Xerun 1/8 in my TKIe.
The point is that the screw holes, if I have understood well the diagram of the Xerun, are 3mm (x6) and the Kyosho mount is for 4mm screws only.
Anyone has had the same 'issue'? Any suggestion?

Thanks a lot!

Ohhh gotcha I couldnt figure for life of me what was going on....One of those days I guess lol. I wish tekin would sell a endbell with all 4mm holes instead of just the 2 on that note

Yes, hobbywing motors have only 3mm holes not 4. You can tap 2 holes to 4mm for a perect fit, but i've seen many guys bolt-on the motor with standard 3 mm screws and a bit of threadlock and it works just fine.

I've recently sold my Mugen cars to pick up a nitro MP9. The car suits my driving style better. I'm looking for some feedback on the electric car now as that's next for me. What I really want to know before buying one though, is how much different does it feel compared to the nitro car?

I ran a Mugen MBX7 and a MBX7E. The electric car felt much more unstable. I think this is due to all the extra weight and since the car is designed with nitro in mind it isn't really setup well for electric. Also, with electric the weight is much closer to the chassis so you have a much lower CoG. So with the Mugen E-car it would slip and slide all over the track. I'm concerned the Kyosho will be the same way since like the Mugen it was originally designed around nitro.

Has anyone tried running 3S to keep the weight down? Is the car still balanced?

I'm strongly considering the Tekno car as it is made purposely for electric. I haven't driven a MP9e, but have driven the EB48.2 and it felt great.

Anyway... looking for opinions and experience. Thanks!

you could try some spacers on the screws (to take up extra 1mm around each screw in the motor mount holes)

Im not sure if i am describing this very well

Just a quick question. I got my mp9e tki kit today. What color knuckles are supposed to come with the kit? I thought it was supposed to be gunmetal but mine are black. Thanks!

The correct color for the knuckles is black. The Nitro version TKI3 the knuckles are gunmetal.
