That cite is dead. the OG moderators lost interest and moved on to crawling etc. too. bad because they had been developing a timing package that could time the stages for two cars. I had a rally car built and ready to go. Alas! It never hit the dirt.

We used to race rally in our local track. We use mabuchi stock 540 motors and its a lot of fun! I will look into my video file and post a race or two.

BITD on the HPI forum, there were quite a few of us that had a rally class going here in te NW as well as Cali and other places around the US. It was popular for a while but lost steam.
If you search some of the old HPI forums and HPI Challenge events, you will see footage of some RC Rally.
For s, we would race on the indoor offroad track. We followed similar rules as WRC as far as a point system. Even if the car broke, but was drivable, you still earned points. The majority of us ran RS4 Rallys, with a few TC3 conversions and Losi Rally cars added to the mix.
I've watched quite a few youTube vids of rally events from overseas and Im quite impressed. the courses and the realism of it all is impressive. I think I would have enjoyed the courses more if they were done like that. As a participant in local RallyX events and helping out with Stage rally, i can tell you that I wish it were still popular.
My RS4 Rally is hopped up w/ just about everything it can. I did convert it for drifting but its back in Rally trim now. I need to add some electronics and dust it off. Might have to find a way to make a rally course in my backyard.
Kudos to you!

Running behind a rc car would have to definitely make things ALOT harder.... Might trip, equilibrium is off, etc.... Looks very cool.
I am a thin guy so I can see how I would have a huge advantage against some of my friends that are better drivers on a stand.
I'm all for it.

wow, that rally coarse is epic, darksupra!! now that is a great way to get rc rally going im sorry, but the only rc event i can see ppl chasing their cars around is rock crawling, and with good reason :P
the only problem with rc rally cars is that they're gonna need some very smooth, hard pack dirt with NO rocks, or else they'll just bounce all over the place. this means it'll take effort to build a fun place to drive them which may limit their appeal. on the flip side, they look awesome and would handle on-road well too.

I also run HPI RS4 Rally, I have 2 of them. One fully hopped up with a lifetime of spares and another just box stock. I have alot of wins in my rally and hope to revive the class with my local club.
