Default Best 1/8 Buggy Speed Control/Motor Setup

I'm looking at either the Tekin T8 or the Castle/Mamba Max.

What do you guys suggest? My budget is $300 for both. I'll be racing/practicing at WCRC.

Thanks!

read the threads for the two, there are 5 or more of the Tekin systems that failed this weekend. I havent ben following the Castle thread but read who is having the most failures with their current product and make and educated decision.

the esc doesnt fail just the rotor comes apart from the magnet in the motor so all you do is call up tekin and get a rotor in 3 days for free...also V2 tekin comes out soon

Yeah, what's the V2? Damn, I'd hate to shell out $300 only to have the rotor fail. How about LRP/Reedy? They have a solid reputation.

b.a., the last 5 stories in the Tekin thread are speed controls, the two guys here in INDY are speed controls, not motors. Don't argue when you don't have all the details.

Jube and Frank both lost speedos. Franks worked for a whopping 4 packs.

There are 4 or 5 others all asking the exact same question in the tekin thread right now. I am not saying that the Tekin system is a good one but I am saying to do your research and make your purchase based on your educated choice.

Does LRP have a good reputation LRP one can also only handle 4S and who knows what the price of that will be. I am looking at getting the Tekin one due to being used for sensor motors as I will also be running their motor. I ha a V1 MMM and had no issues with it, ran great but sold it with the buggy and now wanting to upgrade to the Tekin

Is it possibly to set the motor lower? As in making it like 80% power or something to that ability?
