and people at my track, trackside run them too. I ran it for some time until i sold mine in the other truck. No problems with it. I know multiple people who run them, no problems. Maybe they arent doing something correctly because its a fine tranny.

The Gen 2 tranny is well known for problems and is why Losi went back to a Gen1 tranny for the CR line .

I don't know about "well known for problems"... I personally have found the Gen II to be very reliable and sturdy. One of the biggest differences I noticed going from the Gen I to the Gen II was the fact that idler gears last much much longer. The other advantage is the rear pivot brace being aluminum beefed up the rear end. Nearly impossible to break at the pivot like the Gen I. Of course you could use an aluminum pivot on the Gen I to fix this.

Both are very capable and competitive trannies.

Another thing I like about the Gen II is the D-ring diff. I just cant seem to get the CR diff as smooth as the D-ring. I've thought about switching back, but I hate to give-up on it....it's supposed to be an improvement.

If you break it in properly it is a very smooth diff .
