To fit the SC10 gearbox in a T4 you also need to change to the SC10 rear chassis plate.

This needs to be highlighted or sticked or something
because it is going to get asked about 3,000 times in the next 6 months.

Finished up the assembly on mine this evening, and as JDCrow said the build is pretty straightforward and seemless if you have any T4/B4 experience.

I had removed the applicable FT parts from my T4, and they fit as suggested. I enjoyed building the geardiff and really like the fact they included a gasket to seal it. Picked up a set of TC4 CVDs this afternoon and they popped right in as promised also.

Guess I'll spend the masking and weekend painting.

For everyone to post comments as they build their trucks.

I'll get started. First thing I did was thank the UPS Guy for safely delivering the box in one piece.

Then I took a deep breath so not to damage anything in my frenzy to open the box.

Took out the body, sat it next to my daughters Slash, and the dang Slash got the shakes.

Everything looks to be packaged and labeled for easy step by step building.

The Instruction pack includes the Die-Cut Decal Sheet, Manual, Catalog (with all the part numbers/exploded views/FT & Option Parts/electronics/fluids/ball diff option/you name it), and window mask.

All the advertising I saw said clear body included. Decals optional. So it does actually come with Decals? Ones for the Black painted one on the box? Or maybe random styles?

9845 SC10 Bully Dog Decal Sheet
9846 SC10 Pro Comp Decal Sheet

Are the TC4 Cvds the only ones that work with the gear diff? What about with ball diff tranny? Thanks JoJo

Thanks for clearing that up!

Body FYI

A quick note with regard to mounting the body. My painter and I were discussing the project scheme

We noticed that the mounting location dimples on the rear are marked incorrectly. The dimples are to wide for the rear post.

Check and mark the appropriate location before you ream the holes.

There you go. :)

Qfactor 04-06-2009 10:14 AM

Asked in the other SC10 thread, but unanswered.

Will the Mamba Max/5700 combo work in the SC10? Looking to save a few bucks and move it over to the SC10 from the Slash and put the stock back in the Slash.

TfnG 04-06-2009 10:23 AM

yes, the mamba max and 5700 will go in the SC10. Or u could pick up a novak 13.5 or 17.5 for $150.

PartTime 04-06-2009 01:50 PM

If your paying $150 for a novak motor your getting rapped. There $90 pretty much everywhere.

I'd rather get rapped than raped.

TfnG 04-06-2009 01:54 PM

I meant for a Novak motor and speed contol...then he can keep his mamba setup for the slash.

Really? where can I get one?

DK

Rfury 04-06-2009 01:56 PM

The Havoc Novak systems can be had for $150 or less.

PartTime 04-06-2009 02:03 PM

Im not familiar with that system. Had to look it up. If your never gonna run hotter than an 8.5 looks pretty good. But really surprized it can only handle a stock brushed and not a 19 turn. All in all looks like a nice package. I might have to get one for my son.

DK

Rfury 04-06-2009 02:06 PM

Since the ROAR SCT class is limited to 17.5/27T, I was going to get one of these systems eventually. I think right now I am going to get a SC10 and burn up the last of my brushed motors then change over.

I've got a Havoc with an 8.5T in my XXX-4 and it works great.

I've also got 2 XBRs (predecessor to the Havoc) in other cars.

If you aren't running below 8.5 turn, they are great, inexpensive ESC's.

I see you can tailor the throttle profile. Is it on/off or adjustable like the LRP? I have a Sphere and love the adjustablity, I run carpet and dirt, just afraid it wont have the punch needed for high traction like carpet.

You can select different pre-determined profiles. It hasn't been an issue for me.

Toddzilla 04-06-2009 04:20 PM

On topic, I was shopping on ultimatehobbies.com today and saw that their website said that they have SC10s in stock.

I was tempted.....but I resisted.

Cool, thanks. Might have to get one of these for the sc10.

Mine should be here in the next couple of days.It will see carpet duty first. Im thinking the slash tires might be better for carpet or hard pack then the stock ones. Anybody else run on carpet?

DK
