I pulled my Castle mmm v3 and Neu 1700kv motor out of my RC8 and installled it in time to make the 3rd qual and main. There were only 4 1/8 scale electrics in my class. I had TQ and won the A main. The car handles awesome I was blown away by how great it handles and I havent tuned any thing on it yet. I have a RC8 with a rc monster conversion chasis that i have been racing for the last months. The Hyper 9 out of the box did everything i have been trying to do with the RC8. Hyper 9 has great turn in on and off power. It was a little unstable at high speed but its over geared with the 1700 motor. With the Tekin motor I was only able to fit a 16 pinion without the can being to close to the drive shaft. With the Nue <smooth can> 1700 3d there is more room but i didnt have time to see if a 15 pinion would fit but im sure it well, the Tekin motors a little bigger. No temp problems motor was 145 and controller was about the same. I think a 1400 0r 1500kv motor will be a better fit on 5s. I bought the 9e as a practice car to tune this season at practice to maybe run over the winter. After driving it the RC8 is going on the shelf and this will be used as my main car. Im going to order another one this week. The car was solid no broken parts, the only problem i had was I landed hard on the left front and it poped the steering arm off the front hub. not crazy about how they made that, going to have to find a more solid option. LOVE THE CAR!!!
Can you post some pictures of your buggy.
i would like to discover more about this.

Ron where you racing this weekend? Only problems I have had so far is a front arm and I had the rotor problem with the tekin. 1 extra rotor and an extra set of arms in my box and I hope I will be all set for the next time i race it.

Default Stone Guard

Cleaning this buggy after its first race was brutal. Not having stone guards with the giant body that doesnt fit the car = a mess! My first mod was to fit a guard on the right side. The right takes all the damage <Servo, ESC, transmitter box, and motor> The left side doesnt have anything to get destroyed, the battery box takes the beating. FYI the body is a JC High flow for a RC8 trims out fine.

Is the PL an AM Radio?

Please post pics of your chassis setup

Assuming you have the receiver mounted in the receiver box, do you have anything seperating the actual receiver from the chassis? (ie- foam pad, etc). Maybe you are getting some sort of interference from the receiver sitting on the chassis?

Yes it is the PL AM i have 2 sided tape holding it in off of the chassis i tried laying it flat on its side upside down i even add the glitch buster which shouldent need it cauz the HV all ready has a cap on it
I read some where else that a guy was having the same prob and he put his old HV Novak in (4400kv) with the same radio and got 0 glitching he the put the newer HV in and as the same glitched he sent it back to Novak twice both times they said it was fine. he even when out and bought a 2.4g radio and still got the same ANYONE HERE WANNA BUY A NOVAK LOL ONLY 2 RUNS AND BOTH WERE ONLY 5 MINS LONG LOL

not sure then. you could try the old school foil around the receiver. i would probably try a different radio and give novak a call to see what they say.

What mud guard did you use? Looks awesome. Any crazy stuff to get the RC8 body on there?

What batteries are they when we had 20c lipos the esc is drawing so much current that it's cogging to get up to speed, if you have friend with some bats that 25c or more then try it.
