I have marshalled numerous touring car races and I have never stepped on one car. I always looked to see if there was cars coming, and I always waited till they passed before I went and helped the car in distress.

You have to be an idiot to just run out in front of oncoming cars to help a car, that is when crap happens.

I've only ever stepped on 1 car in my career, and it was an open-motor class Losi Mini Slider on a short high-banked clay oval. I didn't really step "on" it either, my foot just kinda came down on the right front corner. Popped all the right front turnbuckles off and the arm came loose from the chassis. Don't think it actually broke anything though, and in my own defense those Sliders seem to fall apart if you look at 'em wrong.

I hated marshalling that class, those things are so little and they move so fast, it's easy to miss seeing one coming at you.
