About the servo issue. It works in the air but not on the ground. Did you check the splines on the servo and horn. I had this problem once it drove me crazy and the splines just striped on the horn.

so is the plastic spur with its metal insert lighter than the steel spur?

I am trying to get my 8ight 2.0 in light weight trim so i can run it on 2s with a tenshock 4000kv motor. I have a bce chassis, light weight out drives front center rear and chopped up my battery tray. things im looking into include are
lunsford ti turnbuckles
carbon towers
I have read the lunsford hingepins bend easier than stock and i have bent a bunch of stockers so im not interested in making them easier to bend. what else can i do to make it lighter? eventually it will end up with a sct body on it. at that point im going to pull the mud gaurds off to shed some more weight

Yes the plastic spur is lighter. Other things to save weight are newer TLR aluminum diff cross-pins and aluminum outer CVD axles on all 4 corners.

Hey guys. I'm picking up my new 8e 2.0 this Friday I already have brand new Tekin Rx8 and a 2050 kv motor to put in. For a medium size track what gearing is recommended? Pinion size? What weight diff fluids come in diffs and what weights should I get for it?

I will offer you my opinion and I hope there are others. After you break in the car I would change the diff fluids to Losi 5-7-2. Not sure what springs come in the kit but believe they are silver in front and green in rear. I think that you want to start with 40wt out front and 25wt out back.

I would also consider trading out the 2050Kv for a smaller wind. Tekin will do this if it is not used and you contact them directly. If you are only going to run the medium track I would personally get the 1700Kv. If you plan to run other tracks the 1900Kv is most versatile.

+1...Good advice there. I run a 1700kv Tekin on some smaller to medium tracks and I have lots of power. I personally like Mike Truhe's ebuggy setup with 7-10-3. What dangerwr posted is definitely a good starting point. From there you can make tweaks and changes. Enjoy the buggy...it's handles great!

I'll also be running on large track as well. And using 4cell packs to race. Randy from Tekin said the 2050 kv would work very well with the 4 cell

Yes it will work very well but ask Randy what he uses to race. I have tried all sorts of motors and winds and found the the 1900Kv is right for me and is the general choice for most of us who race.

I made the mistake of thinking bigger is better. thats ok when you looking to bash MY BAD I dont bash but thought I could turn it down to handle the shakier finger and hand when the announcer yells your name when your in front. go with the 1900. also you can get rid of the nerf bars and side plastics. go with carbon towers lightned out drives cut the battery tray speed control piece off and mount the speed control to chassis with Keosho gel. drill a few holes in the tray. stay with plastic and dont go over board with aluminum hubs and other steel parts. stay with the plastics to save weight. JMO extra ideas to make you think lol good luck with your toy

do you run the aluminum outer cvd axles? how long have you been running them whats the wear like? I am kinda worried about that part of running using those. whats the tlr benefit of the aluminum cross pins same as the outer axle less rotating mass?

Thanks for the help. I think I'll get a 1900kv. And keep the 2050kv for blowing past other racers down the long straight.

Yup, less rotating mass. To answer your question the wear is good on the TLR CVD axles. I have a set of Answer-RC versions that wear better than the Losi. I hear the Fioroni version is dialed but very spendy. Also I like the titanium upper and lower shock mounts. The lowers are made by Lunsford . . .

Heres my awww come on moment of the 8ight-e2.0 build.

This motor mounted up to the stock Losi E kit....
Motor is a Black Smooth can 40mm NEU 2200 1515 1Y s/r

Tekno Conversion kit came with the 42mm mount. Didnt fit.
Bought the 40mm mount. DOESNT FIT!

What gives?

Does the E-kit diff/motor mount part work with the Tekno chassis? Or am i hunting for a new motor?

Is it ok to bore out 2 of the holes in the mount?
