You can set gear mesh a little tighter with the plastic spur. I set mine to where I can barely hear a little "click" when holding the pinion with one hand and moving the center diff back and forth with the other. Make sense? Some people say place two pieces of paper but have never tried that trick. I just use my calibrated ear.

im using the carbon fiber shock towers from matrix rc and i haven't broken one in 2 years of racing and bashing, im sure that my very flexible chassis and rear flex brace helps to absorb the energy from impacts, on bad landings, it bounces like a basket ball

Which rear chassis brace do you run?

I really like the center SD on tight technical tracks. The general setup for this buggy is 5-7-2 in the diff fluids starting from front to rear. In reality the center SD is similar to running 5-5-2 but is a little snappier getting back on power than using standard diffs. If you have a tight track with a few 180* turns you may appreciate that center SD . . .

I personally like how it works through tight turns off power as well. The transition from power on/off is not as smooth (as standard diffs) but is quite predictable in my car. Cheers!

I think I read somewhere on this long thread that the motor support is not necessary, and could cause problems by changing the pinion and spur mesh. Do a lot of you guys not run the motor support? Is the motor mount strong enough without the support? I've got some huge jumps on my track and I'm a bit worried the motor mount won't be strong enough without the support.

Here is simply what I like . . .

Wing: Stock & Upgrade Vortex
Body: Stock or Pro-Line Slipsteam

I have been told the stock wing is one of the best designs on the market. The stock body has been the most durable. Not great on looks and is why I run the Slipstream which has been discontinued for some reason but they are out there online. The JConcepts is really cool but cracked and fell apart on me quite easy and I use Shoo-Goo on all my bodies.

Do you know how well the new 2.0 body fits? I have been told you have to run soft packs as the hard packs are a little too big . . .

This is a great tip, especially if using velcro to attach the body. You can raise the shell a little bit and still have good bite with the velcro.
