I've broken 1 part in 2 years on my 8ight and it was a shock shaft hit from behind from an idiot. LOL I'm not sure you "need" to upgrade anything. The carbon shock towers are nice, titantium parts are nice both reduce weight. The only thing I would do is reduce weight. The front and rear aluminum brace don't help the vehicle handle better, but they do reduce weight by a few grams.. hardly worth the purchase iMO.

It's a great buggy run it..

Really? I know Pro guys that break parts on occasion. Do you race?? Not sure how anyone could go 2-years only breaking one part and that being the fault someone else. Cool!

I do have to agree that the Losi 2.0 buggy does not really require any upgrades but depends on the individual and the tracks you run. I really like the 10* inclined spindles. I also like the front aluminum chassis plate--seems to make the care respond better and feels more solid on rough tracks. All the other stuff seems to be for weight.

I've been running a 2.0 buggy and 2.0 truggy both in electric and nitro form with only two part failures between three vehicles (I'm on my second buggy) and that was one front drive axle that for some reason just decided to twist off at the cva end of the shaft when landing from a small jump, on the brakes, in my truggy and one front shock tower on my buggy which was my fault because you really shouldn't downside a jump using your front shock tower. Other than that, it's been replacing of odds and ends parts just for maintenance purposes. I was racing nearly twice a week for a year there for a while but I've only currently raced twice in the past three months as of late. Either way, both my current buggy and truggy are well over a year old and as much as I'd like new ones, I see no reason to part with what I have for now. I keep minimum spares around because I found that it just wasn't worth buying them all.

Just picked up a 8ight, I posted a thread on it. Can't wait to recieve it...Takes about 20-25 days since I'm in Afghan but should be a fun car.

Only thing that sucks is the guy had a 4PKS radio with it, would have preferred a slightly less expensive radio but since it was a package deal ready to race for 1100 thought it was a good deal!!!!

I'm sure I'll have tons of questions in the future.

No doubt these cars are solid. I find I wear drive pins on front & rear CVDs often enough that I spent nearly $100 for the Hudy drive pin replacement tool last year. I drive and race really hard and have broken everything on this car except the rear shock tower, shock piston and shock caps. I have even pancaked the chassis!

I have not broken too much neither, except for breaking a Matrix carbon rear tower and a year old JConcepts wing my buggy is very durable and my rig is on it's 2nd season.
The only way guys are breaking so much on this buggy is that they are stll bashers disguising themselves as racers

What would be a good staring point for gearing with a 2200kv speed passion setup using the stock spur, and 4s lipo. I mostly run on medium sized track, medium bite. I should have the motor/esc today to get this thing on the track!!!!

14T pinion, 80-90% epa.

Everything should run cool with this gearing.

What color springs should I be using in the front? I just bought a box set with 6 different colors.. Im racing on a dirt track with a lot of jumps

My other question is if any Losi 8ight owners have a spare transmitter cover they could sell me? I lost mine.

I would run silver or green up front. I prefer silver myself.
