Can't tell from the pic cuz the lexan body protector is covering the slot but I did elongate the hole about 1/4" extra toward the front.
Raced 4 days since gettin this body and it is dialed.

It was caused by acceleration. It was on the left rear so if you flip the picture around thats how it was sitting on the buggy. I guess I will give Horizon a call and find out if this was just a fluke and if I can get a replacement.

Integra, that's what I figured, just bad heat treatment. I'll give Horizon a call.

What's the heaviest oil you have run in the rear of your 8ight E?

I bumped up to 30 wt oil (from 25wt) in the rear with the black springs (heaviest), 54 pistons (same) and it will still smack down pretty good just dropping it from a few inches.
Of course on the track it smacks when landing most jumps, even when I manage to downside the landings.

Is that just how it is?
Handles great, just bottoms out all over the place.

they WILL warranty it....Don't take No for an answer....if the buggy is genuinely BN they shouldn't even ask question's......offer to fax the receipt if need be.

If you are using the 54 piston it is the lightest damping. Stock for a 1.0 8ight is 55 and a lot of guys run the heaviest damped 56 piston. I'm running green springs, 55 pistons and 30wt in the rear of my 8ight w/Losi conversion.

I have asked this question a few times. Many stick with the 5-7-2 and believe sometimes people like to bump up to 10k in the center. I am trying to figure out what people like to use in the shocks. It seems like 45 in the front and 25 in the rear is popular for the brushless 8ight.

In the shocks i like the 2.0 stock setup just changed to black front springs. This workes well on hard packed grooved clay.

Sorry, I got it wrong.
My 8ight E kit setup was 56 NOT 54 piston in the rear.
Then I went from 25 wt oil (kit setup) to 30 wt. oil and the stiffer black spring.
I noticed today after posting that my 8lb 5oz car is bottoming front and rear.
I'm gonna race tomorrow and I changed to 56 piston/35oil/black springs for the rear and uppin the front to 54/50wt./green.
This is the second time I upped the shock oil wt. It is now +10wt over the kit setup.
With this heavier oil it bottoms out less just doin the drop test.
I'll see if it handles well with more dampening.

The 8ight E 1.0 kit diffs use 5000 center, 3000 front, 2000 rear and are workin fine for me.
When I used the Kyosho spur gear and lost some fluid the driving characteristics took a crap.
I resealed and refilled the center diff with 5000 and the car is great again. Nite and day.
