He did say they have a lot of kits and parts for some vehicles but it still stinks I really like my V4 D8. I'm sure I'll pick up a few drive shafts before the outdoor season. Everything else is Hot bodies so I'll be good for awhile I hope.

Default RC8.2e Tekno V4 conversion - ESC/servo mods

Hi,

A little update on this thread to show you my car for this first season since 2010.
I will run a RC8.2e with Tekno V4 conversion kit, but I did a mod for the RX8 to be placed on top of the servo.
I don't like the original place for the ESC, because they are too closed of the motor pinion... it's very difficult to place an ESC on this kit, without any problem like this. Everytime the ESC, in my opinion is too closed of something dangerous... but I know it's not a problem for most of users, so it appears to be my opinion.
So these are some pictures of my car before my very first race of this 2014 season :

I made some plates in PVC material because of prototyping, I just ordered the right carbon thickness to make the parts now in the right material.
Because I have tried this mod for my first race, and it appears to be really good for me to have all the weight forward.
The pictures are with 6400mah lipos, then the receiver is at the right of the car, but when I use 4700 lipos for qualif runs, I can move the receiver at the left of the car, then it's well balanced !
The particularity of the ESC mount is the "Velcro" fixation.
I have talk to many people in the pits about the Velcro reliability, then I decided to make a video to proof that it is ok.
I have seen many drivers with double sided tape, lose some time to remove it, to clean the places...

As you can see it fits perfectly with the Proline Losi Bulldog :

The other detail, are the QTEQ connectors for the T8. I made my first race with them and they are very reliable, it's a pleasure when I change my motor...

Bye !

Hi Genebaby,

QTEQ is a Japan Brand, and they make connectors for everything, ESC, lipos, and motors. They are used mostly on 1/10 classes, but I tried them on my 1/8 motors, with 12awg cables, and no problem. No problem with the reliability, but you have to make a special threadlock treatment on screws.

QTEQ Japan, with all informations about each connector.

And here you can find the American retailer :

It's where I placed my order.

Bye !

I talked to Tekno today. They have V4 driveshafts on order. I was told they might not be making new conversion kits but will be supplying parts for their kits for a little while. Tekno V4 mbx6, Hot Bodies, and RC8.2 are the best 1/8E cars I've driven.

Sadly selling my HB D8 Tekno V4 after track closure. Many new parts drop in your electronics and this thing's a beast.

Default losi 8ight 1.0 conversion

I was wanting some pics of someones installed 8ight v4 conversion if possible.

Does the kit have a rear brace?

Any ideas or opinions on the Losi E conversion vs the v4 conversion?

Upgrading from the Losi E-Conversion to the Tekno v4 was like night and day. Its sooooooo worth it. Mine did not come with a new rear brace, just use the Losi one.
