I hope you guys don't mind me jumping in but I have a question just about the mounts and not a total conversion. I am converting a mini MGT to brushless and think I am going to try this Hobby Wing ESC/Motor combo : http://www.hobbypartz.com/07e-c-sl-4...v-blue-v1.html Will one of the Tekno mounts fit that motor? If so which one do I want?

Thanks,

-Joe

Is there something I can do or use so I can mount a plastic spur and at the same time use mech brakes?
Stay away from the plastic gears. They will get tore up fast. I wanted to do that as well when I ran a Tekno V3 Losi and regretted it after making the switch. If you get the mesh right, the metal to metal isn't to bad.

Just thought I'd share the V4 Losi 8T-E I built from scratch..............
I love the way she handles, and I'm digging the Traktion Drive system!

Tekno V3 -vs- Tekno V4

Whats the difference? it will be for a Hot Bodies Ve8.

Have a chance to pick up a V3 and want to know the major differences are.

If you have the choice, go V4! It is much better, more balanced.
The battery is more forward to balance out the motor, ESC, and servo.
The drivelines are nice and straight on the V4 as well! It is a well thought out and manufactured kit!

Can anyone post a pic of a Hot Bodies Ve8 - V3 so I can see the difference in the layout?

Thanks

Thanks I just have an op. to pick up a V3 for a great price, my main concern with the stock Ve8 chassis is the pinion. I ground the shaft on the motor but it is still only 2-3mm from the battery. I actually rubbed before I ground it.

I don't think they even make a V3 kit for the VE8, now that I am thinking about it!

Here are pics of the D8, a similar buggy.

I drove a V3 and V4 on my mbx6 and the only thing I can say is that the V4 is dialed.

I ran my V4 mbx6 for the first time on sunday and i was surprised to find i was quicker with my old V3

I had changed a few settings during the build (i know i should have left it alone) and i'm now running the new silver springs which apparently get better after a few meets, so i'm going to go back to my old set up and let the new springs break in and go from there.

On the other hand my V4 6T is on fire. I was stoked to get 3rd fastest lap of the day and i am loving the handling of this thing even more every time i drive it.

Question on mechanical brakes for the 8ight. I bought a full set off Ebay. Included the center diff, links, brakes, everything. However, it seems the nitro setup would have the servo on the opposite side as the Tekno kit does. If I turn the linkages around though it would need to push to actuate the brakes. Do I need to turn the cams around so it's a pull action?
