All you do is wire two cells side by side in series, then you repeat that. Then you 3 wires from one side to the other to double the capacity. One from + to +, one from - to -, and another from battery bar to battery bar. Plug the + and - into your deans plug and use the battery bar one as the balancing plug.

The lower voltage shouldn't be a concern, just run a 3.5 brushless system.

A guy at our track is running an X-6 with only 4 cells, and a Novak 5.5, and he isn't really hurting for power.
Sure, I'll post some pictures when I get home or this weekend. It is working out pretty good. I don't notice any difference at all vs. the IB3800s I used to run. All I notice is that the buggy is lighter. I added weight to compensate for that though.

The lower voltage is just fine. I didn't even change my velociti 5.5r motor for a lower wind. I geared up from 15t pinion to 18t pinion and it has the same punch and top end it had before with 6 cell IB3800s.

Default Thought I'd bump this thread...

There's still no word of any "hard" cased saddle pack lipo coming soon into the market...

Can't anyone manufacture "half" of an Orion Platinum or Carbon (3.7V) that can be connected in series with each other (through 12/14-gauge wire-bullet jumper connectors to get 7.4V) and therefore make the pack useable in both stick and saddle configuration?
