I've heard that for races like this it is good to run 2 classes, I plan on running the outlaw truck class and I could just swap out the battery for a nimh and run mod truck. Would this be a good idea?

i would think it wouldn't be a bad idea (if ur running brushless), just not sure if they will run mod truck and outlaw truck back to back.

Alot of guys are running 5 cells and a lower wind motor, that could be another option.

That is a good idea. More track time and keeps you from getting bored between rounds. I'm guessing you are not alone here and that CRCRC staff would anticpate this and separate the truck classes. Maybe one of them can chime in here.

If not I will just be the pit crew for my friend.
Crazy, that would be a question for the guys running the Gas race. We have some electric 1/8th at club races, but I'm not sure about the big race. Go to CRCRC.com and post the question on the forum there.

This looks like just a low voltage light, not really a cutoff. Sorry, but that wouldn't meet the rules.

Dang guys this is a couple months away, haven't thought that far ahead yet, but we'll try to keep this in mind when we set things up. It might be hard to fit in perfectly since I'm guessing some running the outlaw class will make the triple A main also???? It'll all work out.

Speaking of the Outlaw class, there was a lot of chatter about this at the Roar Nats, but I haven't seen much mention since we added it to our class offering. Anyone planning to run Outlaw?????

Alex. Run two at least. With almost 100 entries in each class, things are spaced out. Plus, they post heats on Friday, and can move you if you are back to back. Won't be a problem until the mains, and then, it still won't be a problem. With around 4 hours per round, you will want something to do. Man up and run a real class.
