Why are these trucks limited to a 2s lipo? A 13.5 w/ a 3s lipo would give you a great power line & allow you run run larger packs that you can still charge at a 1c rate.

I don't think most tracks will care if you race that set up, but the 7.2/7.4 volt batteries have been a standard with 1/10th scale ESCs and racing. Trying to keep it simple and stay close to what has always been raced on the voltage power side just using bigger fuel tanks/batteries for longer run time so no rules have to be changed for longer races.

Besides with 2wd, you can only hook up so much of the power you have!

Thanks for the report!

Did an electric TQ and/or win?

Did the other electrics change batteries or use the sameone making simulated gas truck pit stops (how many and how often?)?

Did you notice what systems and batteries the other electrics were using?

Sorry for so many questions! I think alot of readers would like to know for the future?

Thanks Again!

Well it just took me 3 evenings to read this entire thread but it was well worth it! Thanks for all the great info. I've not picked up a tx in almost 15 yrs, I used to race a Losi JRx2 / JRxT in the early 90's. I'm in the process of putting together a new 2wd brushless / lipo truck and I hope to start racing asap! And I'm very excited that my family and I will be relocating to the Charlotte area this summer or fall, it sure looks like a great place for RC racing!

Thanks again for this great thread it has helped tremendously with my research of what to start with.

NW RC Pro series. Gas truck A-Main 30 mins
1st Chris Bridgewater AE Gas truck.
2nd Jake Lemke T4 LRP/8.5/8000maxamps
3rd Tim Weidemann T4 Tekin R1pro novak 10.5 geared 24/82
2 other electric trucks 1 losi/Novak/8.5/8k max amps
Not sure what the other one was running.

All electrics made the 30 min's without a battery change

3 required pitstops for all stop and go's for the electrics.

Although a electric could state they were going to do a battery change and only have to do 1 pit stop.

If I do this race again I would get a 8k pack and get a bit more motor to compete with the team AE driver.

RC Pro Series East Region report from Sumter, SC

Dennis Allison TQed, won the race and sewed up the east region championship with a Novak GTB, Novak 13.5 and TrueRC 8000 li-po. That is right a 13.5 motor.

Only 2 electrics in race and I was the other qualfying 2nd, breaking while leading and came back in to finish 4th. I had a Novak GTB, Novak 7.5L and a MaxAmps 8000 li-po.

We made 3 pit stops at 8, 16 and 24 minutes to equal the gas trucks. No battery changes.

On another impressive run with an E-Revo, Dennis Allison was the only electric in Production Monster Truck class TQing and battling back and forth for the lead that changed about 50 times in 30 minutes with a gas Revo finishing 2nd by .9 second. He had to make 3 pit stops too with no battery change using a the latest Novak HV Pro ESC and a Novak HV 6.5 motor with 2 12,000 mahs 2S Li-pos. This E-Revo was so impressive, I might have to get me the new E-Revo when it comes out and Novak it too.

Good luck on all the electric racers in the 30 minute mains and keep those reports coming. I look forward to meeting some of you at the Pro Series Nats in Texas this year for a 45 minute main!!!! Yes we can do it!!!!

A 3s or 4s battery w/ a milder motor will run more effeciently & result in a longer battery/motor life.

I wish I could make it to the race in Canada. I am in Utica, NY weekly and plan on racing the Pro Series Nitro Race in Rome, NY on June 14th and 15th.

Please post some results of the race and what ESC/motor/battery everybody is using!

Thanks!
