How do I eliminate the cogging when using the Mamba and a Neu 1512?
What settings should I have for the speedo?
I have it geared at 16/46.
It does not happen all the time, only after a crash. or when things heat up it seems to be more prevalent.
Does the four pole motor have anything to do with it?
What would be another speed control that would hold up in a 1/8th buggy with 14.8v going through it?
Any sugestions would be a big help.
Thanks,
Doug

Servo Whos conversion are you using one of your own or does someone make them? If you have a 4 pole motor that would not help your cogging issue if what I have read to be correct. 4 pole makes the ESC work twice as hard as a 2 pole. Do you have a picture of what you broke on the battery box.

I have the same kit and using the maxamp 5000 4s. I also have a MM and Neu 1512. I have posted on another forum that mine does not cog. I use the 1512 1.5D/F 3200 rpm/V. I used a 10-11/46 gear. The bigger pinions just seem too tall for the combination. The Plettenberg Maximum doesn't cog either. I have ran 10-13/46 without any problems. The Plett is a 4 pole motor too. It is not just a Neu-MM issue. CJ-7 had a chance to not see my buggy cog last weekend at his home track in Indiana. I just had other problems during that real hot day.

I did just order the new 1512 2D F/H which has a fan on it too keep it cooler.
I seem to be partial to these motors now.

I will try a smaller pinion
thanks
where are you getting the 1512 2D F/H from?
I think a fan would be good.

I called Steve here directly. He is the distributor for Neu.

Just a general question.

I thought cogging was a thing of the past, even with the further development in sensorless systems?

There is an isue with the MM and Neu combo. Most people have the stall/stutter with this combo. Once you get moving it's fine. There seems to be a few people that don't have the problem. Castle has been saying they are going to address it, but it has been a long time now.

We have only ran up to 10 minute mains, but with the 5000 pack, it would be around 20 minutes with my buggy, at my home track and the way I drive.

i think because most of us have truggys or 1/8 scale buggys and there is a huge weight difference between them and your XX4.

That is probably why.... There hasn't been much trouble with the NOVAK systems.
Mine has the original 4400 in it and it seems to be one of the most reliable at the track. It is VERY powerful. I do have thermaling problems on occasion do to my over aggressive driving style, but I have not added any additional fans to the motor or ESC yet. I probably will have to as the summer warms up.
Others that I know who are running the NOVAK HV MAXX systems also are having a lot of fun and good experience with them.

lavaandy..... many people think that the novak hv 6.5 and 4.5 systems dont have the power to get the job done. i run the hv 6.5 in my 1/8 buggy and it has all the power i need. i will admit, the other sensorless combos out there do have more power but unless you are on a huge track like the farm in nc i dont think it is needed. i do run a fan on my motor as well as my esc. if they keep running i can run until my batteries dump if i want.
we are all still learning just what we can and cant get away with.

Exactly Gary!! That is why we need all the input we can from everyone who is working on these to tell us what they are doing and what results they are getting. The more feedback we get the better.
Batteries, Gearing, Temps of the ESC and Motors and the conditions they are running in. Any extra fans that have been installed, where they are located and any other info that might help.
Details pics are always appreciated too.

kvrc I run the reg. 6.5 in my 2wd and it is very fun, I run the 4.5 in my xx4 and it is alot faster then the 6.5. since running these systems I have won more then ever,I like working on my setup instead of my motors, was wondering if the 4.5 hv would be as big a diff. can't wait to set up my 8, and then work on the car and it's setup instead of the clutch and motor what packs are you running and what kind of run time do you get? what kind of spur and pinon are you guys running
