any one looking for 6s, these are also really easy to break down and make 3 4s packs since they don't use the circuit boards, just make sure you have a good iron.

Got a question I m running 2000kv medusa with 11T with 50slip diff.speed is 37mph but within 11mins my motor reach a temp of 176F. How do I lower my temperature without lower my pinion?

I m running on 6s 5000 zippy.

When I was running my 1600kv on 6s 5000 before it was 140F only at 20mins. Was abt 35mph.

Question is izzit better on 2000kv lower pinion or 1600kv higher pinion

sorry man, both esc n motor has fan already.

i use the speed calculation it shows if i run 1600kv with 13t i will have abt 35mph.

if i run 2000kv with 10t i will get 34mph, but 10/11t wears out too fast.

any suggestions?

Run the 1600kv on 6s and gear to speed you want. This will have lower temp then with the 2000kv

The Jammin CRT truggy has 43/13T front and rear diffs. With a 2000/kv motor, 11T pinion, 50T spur gear, truck tires and a 6S (22.2v) battery it is geared to do @ 49.6 mph. That is kind of high for a heavy truck. If you run it on 5S it would be geared for @ 41.4 mph and that should be perfect.

With teh 1600/kv motor on 6S and same gearing it should top out at @ 39.7mph (11T pinion). Witha 12T pinion @ 43.3 mph on 6S.

If you already have a bunch of 6S packs I'd stick with the 1600/kv motor.

Superek4

You should try doing 13t on the 1600 and see what you get for temps and speed.

Was the speed almost there with the 12t?

6s and 2000kv is not a good mix. Even 1600kv is a little high on 6s IMO.

1600kv on 6s with 12pinion was 32mph, was abit slow but temp was 140F.

i will try 1600kv with 6s & 13teeth. But that will solve half the problem. My heats is too slow to run on 1600kv.

to run 1600kv on 4s i need 19pinion to give me 34mph but the strain to the motor will be great.

So far the 2000kv with 11pinion on 6s gives me a amp draw of 263per min!

Thats means motor change from heats to main

I run my 2000kv Medusa on 4s and I have no problem keeping up with anyone and I never have temp problems. I use 14 tooth pinion and the stock spur gear which I believe is 48 tooth.

That is in my Losi 8T V1. ^^

I think you are making this all too complicated. Pick a setup... you don't need to be changing your stuff out from heats to mains. Nobody else is doing that. Instead of trying one run, and then changing everything again... stick with it and play with the gearing. Then if you just can't make it work, change the setup and work with that one for while.

I guarantee you that both 4s and 2000kv... and 6s and 1600kv can work just fine. I think 1300-1400kv is better for 6s. Actually IMO 5s would be better for the 1600kv.

btw, don't discount what 4s can do with the 1600kv motor. If you have a big pinion, try the 1600 on 4s before assuming it can't work. I ran my CRT with a 4s 1650kv setup. I didn't have it geared to blow away the nitros, but it was still fast enough to run with them and beat them. I won a local trophy race with it 3 years ago. It had the stock CRT 43/13, with a 49 spur and I think I ran 12-14 tooth pinions.

So far the 2000kv with 11pinion on 6s gives me a amp draw of 263per min!
not surprised... that's not a good setup imo. it's like when guys were running 3200kv on 4s and wondering why it ran hot, etc
