FWIW, I have 5 race days on the #0222 HiFlow on a heavy, heavy, Losi SCTE. As I posted a little bit ago, it doesn't fit that truck as well as I'd like but it also doesn't (knock on wood) have a single crack on it yet. Same point in time with my Flotek and the ShoGoo was already out in liberal amounts. It will be definitely be my SC body of choice going forward.

I am new to the 1/10th indoor 2wd game. I have been reading through the last 10 pages or so am a little confused about what tires I should have for Losi 22. I will be racing on a high bite clay indoor track, that maybe dries out just a bit as the day goes on. I need to know what tires and inserts I should have in my arsenal? I appreciate your time. I can't get everything under the sun because this is just to supplement my nitro racing but I can get a few sets front and rear just to meet basic track conditions. I was thinking the following:

Gold Bar codes front/rear with profile inserts
Gold Bar codes front/rear with and 1 inserts
rips with and 1, and profile inserts

I am not sure whether I should get V1 or V2 Barcodes. Also, I think I run 4wd inserts for front tires on losi 22. Is that correct? I am used to using gold compound indoors but I see people referring to other compounds also. I am out of touch, haven't raced a 2wd in 8 years.

Your best bet is to see what all the faster guys at your track are running.

I appreciate the insight, just thought I would get a jump on what to bring with me Jconcepts wise, because if the fast guys aren't running Jconcepts I won't be running what they are.

I would use V1 gold Barcodes front and rear with profiled inserts. As the track dries out switch to green V2 barcodes and green barcode fronts with profiled inserts.

Not really, but I've seen it done with some creative cutting. It really looks out of place though.

Paul, the track is JCP RC in Indianapolis Indiana. It is a fairly new track. I got some feedback from some of the local racers there, and have sorted out what I need. Bar codes in green/gold with a couple different insert configurations is pretty much all I need for now. There doesn't seem to be as many effective tread variations on the indoor front for JC as compared to Nitro 1/8th. Thank you guys for your help. Hopefully the new Losi Monos are in stock soon.

I understand. I've seen a few guys just run their standard Scoopless or Hi-Flow bodies on the +8 chassis. The very back of the body gets pushed out a little by the chassis, but still looks good.

I ran the 22 a few times indoor this season. Ran V2's but if you can try both. Right now I like V1's on my DEX210, but will try V2's next time out.

I start with Gold Barcodes when the track is wet or damp. As the track dries Blue is the ticket. This has worked at pretty well for me at CRCRC, Raceworld Raceway, and Proving Grounds.

Never have had to touch Green compound for indoor.

aeRayls 11-23-2011 04:57 PM

Do NOT get the green's for jcp. Gold is your only hope.
