What changes would be needed? A new chassis? Body mounts?

I think it would be great if AE entered this class as well.

The biggest thing would be a narrow chassis along with places to mount roll-bars. Losi made quite a few small changes that go a long way making things look right. I personally rather not see a bunch of poorly converted SCT's out there.

jconcepts sc wheels

i purchased 5 sets of the rulux wheels that fit the sc10 4x4 and one of the wheels has a molding issue. the outside edge of the big side bead(sorry.....its only slightly convoluted lol) has pieces missing. does jconcepts want the wheel back??

thanks,
anthony

Does anyone know what the front and rear track width of a J82 is? The new shorter XXXT-SC arms have me thinking a Losi J82 would be possible. I've got a nice Mf2 that's not getting any more valuable.

What do you guys think of not including foams with your 2WD buggy tires? I don't know how much they cost to produce, but if I could buy the tires without the white foams and save $2 a set of tires I would. I have plenty of open cell foams just lying around because I have no use for them.

Um yea fine for you however the other 250,000 racers out there may not like to buy foams separately which you can already do with AKA tyres.. :batman:

Best of luck to the JConcepts Team heading to Finland for the 1:10 Electric Worlds!....

The OPTION to not include foams would be nice. I've yet to see a 2WD buggy racer at my track use the open cell foams, all of them have gone for the closed cell and usually throw the open cell in the trash.

My experience has been that open cell foams included with read tires have little to no purpose. So giving us the option to not buy them, or dropping the price on the tires $2, and selling the foams alongside the tires for $2, seems to be a viable option to me. Most racers have no use for the open cell foams and trash them also, I know I'm not alone.

I just wanted to give a shoutout to Allison for replacing my set of Crossbows that had bad foams in them. Good customer service goes a long way!

Thanks again

The J82 is based on the T4 so it has the same arms and the SC10. I think a B4 with the T4 chassis would be able to use the J82 body and complete with the Losi 22 more on larger tracks.

Davidka 07-15-2011 01:28 PM

I think guys have tried the T4 chassis on the B4 since the 22 came out but it hasn't worked out as well.

The J82 arrives at it's track width by using wheels with less offset than the standard AE truck wheels. The Losi XXXT is wider at the hubs than the T4 and uses the lower offset wheels already so it doesn't get any narrower when using the J82 wheels. I was thinking with the narrower SCT arms it'd get there. Might even be an interesting experiment with the standard Stadium truck stuff, if anyone were running those anymore.

Like the new body that Maifield is using! What is this called?

Edit: I saw on JConcepts Smugmug website, it's called the "Finnisher". Named for Finland where the worlds are being held. I like it!
