SEALENT QUESTION
#2
Basically something you can find in any auto parts store. RTV slicone sealant, but make sure it is labeled "sensor safe."
I've had my tube of sealant for years. Someone else could probably elaborate more about the "sensor safe" rating.

The best stuff you can use for sealing your engines is anaerobic sealer. I have been using the stuff for decades . Doesn't have any effects on engine components and is easy to clean up and never really hardens so removing your carb is not such a chore . You can get it at any good hardware store or auto parts store. Lock-Tite makes it as well as a number of other people.
I really like the stuff that you can get at any GM dealer ,and it comes in a really nice small tube. They have 2 different kinds too ,one for larger gaps called gasketmaker and the other is just a sealer. Both are AWSOME and you only need just a tiny tiny bit to do the job .
Way better than silicone sealers and holds up to the heat better too.

TKO has one. If Peter's got it then it is good.

Only problem with the high temp silicone is it adds dimmension to your tolorences ! and can add up to .004 of an inch , not really that good for the back cover , this is why I recommend using the anaerobic sealer, it doesn't add much if any dim. and seals and cures instantly ! it may seem wet on the outside, which is great ,you can simply wipe off the extra ,as it cures with the absence of air ,hence the "anaerobic" in it's name.
Silicone works perfect as well , but doesn't look as professional

There are people that would have a "professional" result with either...LOL...and some that wouldn't.
