HB E8 World Spec
Does anyone have any reviews of this new kit in comparison to the 819rs? I noticed a lot of the same part numbers when comparing manuals but the arms and hubs seems to be the biggest difference.
Any opinions? |

Ryan Mayfield said it best in an interview, racers used to watch the 819 go around the track and be like wow that is pretty good, but instead of HB making little improvements to that platform they changed so much they basically ruined a good thing and now the car is pretty much unusable in comparison to the old one

Many drivers in my area are experiencing mixed reviews, some love it and some hate it. Those who love it are those who prefer a car that is twitchy and over rotates to get faster corner speed. Those who hate it are those who are used to the locked in feel that the RS offered.
I just finished building my WS and test drove it yesterday for the first time starting with box stock setup and it was literally un-drivable for me. After close to a dozen different tuning changes, I've got the car dialed back to where my lap times are on par with my RS. It's going to take some time for me to build confidence in the WS, I only have 1 day of testing on it, but I'm confident that I will find a stable setup to maintain the same results I had with the RS. I'll be posting my setup and findings here in the coming weeks where I am 51 years old and prefer an "old man" setup where my weapon on the track is consistency versus speed: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...B-Racing-E8-WS |
I certainly wouldn't call it unusable it just needs some setup work, The old car is a rough track car and the new one is a smooth track car. As Bill said the the set-up is age dependent. My Son does set-ups now due to my old age. He is 43 and I am 71 so they are quite different.

Taking this to heart, Lily started to capture the simplicity around her — the play of light on leaves, the hues of a sunset, and the joy in mundane moments. The elder's advice transformed her art, earning Lily both local acclaim and a newfound appreciation for the wisdom of those who came before her. |

How are folks mounting the LCG 4s packs in this car? The battery strap (CF), is too high, do not want to cut the stock supports but that might be the only option :(.

https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...7&postcount=12 https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...4f805898_c.jpg *** Very important to note that the rear shock stand offs are too short and will allow the shock caps to bind on the tower, it's recommended to place 1mm spacers behind the standoffs or replace them with the following standoffs which are eventually going to placed in the newer kits at some point soon: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...9&postcount=15 |
Thanks all. I already have the correct part for the rear shock standoffs. I can try the foam mod but worried it will move under impact. I'd done it for some older 10 scalers and it moved a lot.
I found a plate here https://speedyrc.com.au/collections/...-battery-plate but sold out. Pinged the store if they can restock. Do you have the bezerk part number handy? Else I will just do the foam mod or cut the extra part (ordered a spare already incase I want to run a fat shorty). |
I've been using the foam spacer on the battery tray for the past 3+ years on the RS without any issue, stays perfectly in place and no movement.
