Any videos of one of these on a proper RC Off Road track? Any videos of two of them running together side by side on an off road track navigating a corner? I see youtube "reviews," but they are from the usual suspects who give every Horizon product a good review to keep the free product flowing. I think it's going to take a lot of skill to run one of these on a track and a whole lot more skill to run one on a track under race conditions. I don't see free practice going well with one or more of these on the track with truggies, buggies, and SCTs. The fact that Hole Shots were released for this gives me the impression that Losi wants people to race them, but I honestly don't see that taking off due to the skill that will be needed, it will be a very niche class. It's already been noted that they may have a wide turning radius. Like most Losi products, I think it looks good, but like other Losi products I question the quality of the plastic and the electronics. It would be nice if there was an honest youtuber out there addressing these issues. How are the tolerances, is it sloppy like a lot of Losi's other RTR's, will it require a bunch of shims? I don't see these taking off and I definitely don't see them being raced, however I do see them selling well at the outset.

probably turns better on dirt with the dirt tires. hopefully the street tires have a better radius but the gyro could be preventing some of the lean as well, maybe the gyro can be adjusted as well? time will tell. im excited still.

It is cool to see Pro-Line also make a variety of tires to go with this, even Holeshots!

Sadly Horizon owns Pro-Line, so it makes sense that they would announce product for it and I wouldn't read too much into it like some others are. I don't see this thing being supported by aftermarket companies unless it sells like hotcakes and by that I mean, pre-orders sell out, second batch sells out, and it becomes a very difficult RC to acquire. There is no aftermarket part support for the Mini Drag and people thought that thing was going to be a game changer, no aftermarket part support for the JRXs either.

The turning takes a little time to get used to. Less is actually more when it comes to steering. If you turn the wheel full lock, the bike will lean to max angle and ride on the outrigger wheel. That takes weight off the front tire and makes the bike push. There are 3 sets of bumpstops for the outriggers that let the bike lean more or less. The outriggers have droop screws also to adjust. Turning the MSX6 control up or down also adjusts how much the radio 'helps' keeping the bike upright when moving.

I can drive the bike around myself in a 3 foot radius at about walking speed, just takes a few packs to practice for most people.

The videos on the Losi website show the bikes running together on the track at Proline. As for the turning radius, see my replies to the others about that. Most people get the hang of the steering in a pack or two. Durability is very good, I've been running the same test bike for 6 months with no major breakages. Fit and finish are very good, no shimming required, just regular chain maintenance like a full size bike.

That track looks super wide and looks nothing like what most of us run on. I stand by everything I say, these bikes are going to be too difficult for most to drive on a track and they aren't going to meet expectations. Do you think people are going to stick with it for several packs to learn how to drive it, personally I don't (especially if they are getting hammered at/on the track and most want instant gratification), do you really think the average person is going to want to adjust this or that to make their $600 toy work properly (finding the right settings is going to take some time for most and then there's the constant tweakers who will be constantly adjusting to only end up going backwards), I don't (this is an RTR not a kit, most people buying RTR's just want to play not make adjustments), I see people getting frustrated. The bikes in the Losi video are being driven by people who know how to drive them, this bike in the hands of someone learning how to drive it is not going to go well and I think a lot of people will get frustrated and shelf it or sell it. Now put a bunch of bikes on the track with drivers trying to learn to drive them around the track and you're going to have chaos and a lot of dumped bikes getting ran over by the other 4 wheeled RC's on the track, which is only going to piss off the people with the bikes and these bikes getting ran over is more than likely going to tear them up and what do you think is going to happen if the downed bike tears up a set of race tires, that's not going to end well. IF they are raced, for the sake of everyone's sanity, they will need to have their own race day and I don't see that being realistic due to lack of interest, most of the people buying these will be bashers running them in a big area, most people buying won't be racers. These bikes are the surface equivalent to RC helicopters. One thing I can see happening with these bikes is some kind of no prep parking lot racing, I bet they'd be pretty good at oval as well, but transitioning from left to right in a short amount of space doesn't look promising.

Are you really saying that the only way to make this bike turn in a 3 foot radius is to slow it down to walking speed? That sounds painfully slow and they will definitely get in the way of other 4 wheeled RC's on the track.

As far as being durable, RCDriver took his to bash with a few friends a couple days after he received his and it broke (the video is on youtube for everyone to see and judge for themselves), so a few packs in of bashing fun and it's broken. Yeah, no. Then there's the issue of the electronics that Horizon uses, they have a high failure rate. Who wants to spend $600 on a toy to have it break within a few packs? You state you've had yours for six months and haven't broke it yet, but are you beating on it pack after pack like most bashers will or babying it, do you have video of you running it? How easy is this bike to work on? If it requires a lot of disassembly to replace parts that's going to turn people off as well. Like most Losi releases it looks cool, but falls short. Jury is still out regarding it needing shims and the quality of material used, because regardless of what you say Losi's recent track record when it comes to this is not good. I'll wait for a review from someone who actually had to pay money for it for an honest take on it.

Rick Vessell Going forward I truly believe it would be much more beneficial to Losi and other manufacturers while being a lot more interesting for viewers if you put the budget you use to provide youtubers with free RC's into documenting the research, development and testing process. It could be an ongoing series premiered at release that extends until delivery, showing us the ups and downs, the setbacks, the breakthroughs, what better way to engage with a current and potential customer while getting them excited about your product and brand. It would be so awesome to get more insight into what goes into making and developing and RC and you know what else it may do, draw more people to the hobby.
