Help, need advice for swollen Lipos
To make a long story short, got back into the hobby in 2019, the covid happened and my stuff sat for a while as Covid and other life things happened. Thought I had properly discharged them on my charger at last use, but apparently I screwed up.
Got my stuff out, and I have 2 2s lipos with separated cases. One its puffed mostly on one end, the other the case is basically fully apart. I have never dealt with lipos this far gone before, so need some help on safe disposal. Dont know if they're safe to hook a discharger up to. I know some hobby stores will do battery disposal, but unsure what to do with something this far gone and if I need to possibly dispose from the city.
Thanks for any help.

Put a 12V light bulb on them and discharge them with that - and do it safely, somewhere in the backyard or so, just in case... Once that is done, regular battery disposal should be fine.

I always put them in some salt water for a few days after they're ran down flat from the light bulb.

12V light bulb outside and leave it for hours. Then put it in a bucket of salt water for a few days. Then toss it in the trash (or take to a recycler if you have one).

I thought by now the salt water method had been debunked as a myth, since it will basically only corrode the contacts, plus the light bulb will already discharge the battery down to zero (and much, much quicker), so no more for the salt water to achieve...?

At least over here, batteries (of any kind) are not supposed to be disposed of via normal household garbage, since they are extremely harmful to the environment.

many DPWs across the USA will dispose of them correctly.
