Default New Slash 4x4 Upgrades

I acquired a 1/10 4x4 Short Course by Traxxas second hand it had been used maybe 4 times. So now that i finally have a 4x4 short course truck I want to ask what upgrades I should do right away. I enjoy bashing around (what an excellent R/C) and would like to race at some point.

For bashing, my advice is run it and fix what breaks. If you break the same part back to back, upgrade it.

If you take the advice of others that bash different than you , drive different than you, you will end up going down a rabbit hold of upgrades that will leave very little slash in your slash.

Example -If you want to race, I would recommend the upgrade kit "Tekno SCT410.3"

But as a new racer, that is not really required. Go race a few times with your slash to see if you like the format before you drop big money on it.
