You do realize that the guys who design the eb-4 now own AE right? This means the price should be similar to that of TTR. Now, what would make things great is if they took the AE concept of releasing a new car or truck with the durability pieces such as ti turnbuckles and cvds, but instead released their newly badged ttr buggy with machined shock towers and stuff so that you would have a durable car out of the box. The price differance between the hop up and the stock part isn't much. However when you have to spend $50 to replace a $40 part that doesn't work it gets expensive.

Yup. I know all about that. But just because the guys who make the eb4 and AE are now one company does that mean they've fired all of AE's r&d crew?
Here's an example, Horizon owns Losi. Horizon brings in a lot of stuff from Asia. Does this mean all of Losi's products are now a bunch of rebadged junk? Are they just gonna put Losi stickers on the Mayhem? Of course not! Losi is still able to pursue their own designs. I don't see the AE situation being any different.

I think the biggest difference betwen the Thunder Tiger/AE deal and the Horizen/Losi deal is the fact that Horizen was a Distributor and not a manufacturer like Thunder Tiger is.

Try this scenario for someone getting into racing:
MX3 (used): $60
Super Brain 977 w/PS: $105
Matched IB3800's x 3: $150
Used QC2: $80
2 Motors: $120 (if running mod)
2 Motors: $75 (if running stock)
TOTAL: $515 (mod) / $470 (stock)
You can be very competitive without taking out a second mortgage. Will you win the World's? No... but for club-level racing what I've quoted is MORE than sufficient.
When you're ready to take the hardware at the Nats, you won't be buying your own stuff anyway.

Side note- Why would TTR be against AE making an 1/8th scale? They would then have 2 competitive 1/8th scales on the market.. more products to sell, the more money you make. TTR and AE are businesses, not a pair of teenage girls fighting over the highschool quarterback...
