Those are Droop Screws. In the most basic form, they will set your installed shock length and angles of the arms while there is zero weight on the wheels. I’m not sure how people are setting the overall shock length as per the setup sheet, but this adjustment would change the shock length once they are installed.

Hello,
I am new to 1/8 scale buggies and have the 8ight X-E on order.
For the shocks, based on your experience until now, what works best - emulsion or bladder shocks? Also, are you looking to get any amount of rebound or completely dead shocks are preferred for this vehicle. (I know, the answers depend a lot on the track type, driver, etc)
Second question, would you stick with the default 10/12.5/4 setup for diffs or go to an initial 5/7/3 setup that seems a bit more balanced for a starting point.

In the end I built it with 5/7/3 - once I get a feeling on how it handles will decide if more adjustments are needed.
Based on the research I have done it seems that a Tekin Rx8 Gen 3 coupled with a Hobbywing Xerun 4268 G2 1900KV would be a decent option to power it. Are there any other combos out there beside "all Tekin" or "all HW" that I should be considering? Thanks!

I love my Tekin setup. In my area it is all Tekin and HW but there are other options from Reedy, Muchmore, Orion and the new Performa rc brand.

Hello,
I had a look at the Performa RC and it looks quite promising! Not easy to find though but I guess that is part of being the new kid on the block. Are there any testimonials out there when it comes to the quality of their support?
For the time being I am just going through the build - the experience is a positive one until now!
Two quick questions: how much black grease should go on the main diff gears before the diffs are being put in their cases? Second, blader vs emulsion shocks - do the bladders need to be replaced as often as stated in the TLR videos?

As for lubricating the differential drive I would wet the entire gear surface partially filling each tooth, most the excess will be flung off anyway. The XE is easier to gain access to the differentials so a relube is easy and saves more time.
