Default B44.3 servo set up, need help

Hi, So I'm working on rebuilding a B44.3 I picked up a while back, was taking a break but back on it. I'm installing the servo and running into a snag. the issue is the servo link part number 7911. This piece along was missing from my roller when I got it, ordered it by part number from Associated and despite the fact that its the correct part number and listed as compatible on Associateds own site, it doesn't work. As in its not even remotely possible to hit that 20.5mm specifed from center to center of cups. With the ends screwed all the way on it hits about 30mm. So did this part set just get mispacked or am I missing something completely? I didn't want to cut the screw down until I asked.

Also in relation to the servo on this same page, can anyone tell me the benefits of running the floating servo vs non floating?

Just trim a little bit off the ball cups so you can make the link the correct length. Use a new razor blade, and make sure to keep it square when making your cut.

The floating servo mount is to increase chassis flex symmetry. A floating servo mount helps to make the car flex the same when cornering. I ran a floating servo mount on my car and noticed the handling was more consistent. It is a small difference, but a really good driver can feel it for sure. I doubt you will be able to feel the difference.

Associated lists #9170 on the B44.3 page, which is also used for the sway bars. The part shown in the manual was made for the GT2 and seems to be way too long. I'd either cut the threaded rod to the specified length or buy the $2 part #9170.
