That is a very hot motor for a 2wd buggy. The best drivers in the world are using 6.5 and 7.5t motors. Look for Orion, Reedy, Maclan, and Hobby Wing ESCs that can handle at least 160amps.

Wurks R1 Digital 2 is great and priced well at $130. MuchMore Fleta Pro V2 as well. Both will power 5.5t easy. They both are light speedos being just around 44g

Love my Maclan Pro for Mod stadium truck. Would hold up to buggy just fine. Love how the fan only comes on if needed. i never seen it come on with a 6.5 turn. I plug my Samsung Galaxy S8 into it, to program it. Simply pick the Mod buggy profile, then adjust Brake and Drag Brake as you like. it is cool the on/off switch plugs into it. So you can run with or without and easily replace it.

Hobbywing 120a escs work well for me. I have seen people use them for 6.5s and they work fine. I am worried that a 5.5 might be pushing it a little too much though. For off road it says the motor limit is a 4.5. But if you want one for $54, this is your buy.

+1 for HobbyWing... offers a nice smooth and powerful braking control with multi-stage features depending on how far you press the brake.

Another vote for Hobbywing.

SMC. Try an 8.5 and boost/turbo. A 6.5 is bonkers in 4wd, let alone a 2wd.

Orion 10.1 Pro would be my vote 😁

SMC. For the price of other ESC's, you can get an ESC, motor, and program box. The motor size depends on the track, I like 7.5T and a bit of negative expo in the radio but, as someone else mentioned, 8.5T and a bit of boost is fun too.

Just wondering if you can handle RACING a 5.5T motor. The faster the motor the faster you break parts. If you are not skilled enough granting you are still asking what esc to use for this type of motor..... it's going to be pricey for you. ..... just saying.

Tekin RSX can easily handle the 5.5 motor.

I agree,5.5t on a 2wd buggy is crazy fast,I ran a 5.5t with a xcar 120a on my b64d and it was crazy fast stepped down to 6.5t. On my b5m I installed a 8.5t but seems slow
