Not true. Hobbywing and orion are totally different orion is smoother ESC that i have.

I have heard from other local pro's in my area that Orion was made by HobbyWing too, it wasn't clear if the firmware is compatible between brands, I've also seen rebranded SkyRC ESC's sold under the Turnigy label but with incompatible firmware. It would be interesting to find some concrete documentation out there corroborating the HobbyWing -> Orion connection.

It's common knowledge that Hobbywing makes Team Orion's ESC's BUT to Orion's specs. This means Orion and HW's esc's are not the same, just made by the same manufacturer. I know this info was correct up until the R10.1 esc's, I don't know if this is still the case for the HMX stuff.
