Gear ratio
I'm looking for a little help on a starting gear ratio I just got into the no prep drag racing scene been racing mostly slash based RC dirt oval cars for years. I just purchased a 4.5 turn Trinity drag master from Ron also a hobby wing xr-10 G2 pro elite. I'm putting it in a slash drag truck ready to run I'm looking for a starting point for a gear ratio I realize I'm probably going to have to run a 90 spur gear can anybody help me out with a pinion gear that will get me close but not over geared I would appreciate it thank you very much

17t-21t is your window for a 90t spur, generally. From there it's about how you want to adjust your torque and acceleration.
I run 23/87 and most would consider that "over geared". But it's good for 2.5s at less than full throttle.
