Default NASA Rock Crawler Demo

NASA contacted me about a month ago on rccoh.com to help them with some demonstrations for the public using rock crawlers. We attached a plate and a camera to my AX10 and controlled it remotely from a remote cockpit in the back of a high tech van. Pretty cool stuff.

Default Killer Krawler Complete

Just finished building the Killer Krawler that NASA will use for their demo purposes. From here they will add a plate on top that will hold a 3 camera setup, robotic arm, and GPS device and more.

Here are a couple of pictures and then a link to the build for those interested.

Hey guys,
Here is an official video of the rover and helicopter they have setup. This year’s Innovation Day will be May 4th and they are adding a robotic arm on top of the rover that will be moving rocks around as well as placing them in box we are putting on top of my crawler. I’ll be sure to update with plenty of pics and video afterwards.

This years innovation day at JSC is this Wednesday. They have added a robotic arm to the rear of the Killer Krawler. It's controlled separately by a game controller. They will use it to pick up rocks and place them into a box that will be on my AX10.

Here is a picture of it in all of it's gear and a link to more pics. I'll be sure to post pics after Innovation Day.

Will NASA be staying with the Novak running gear, all that weight high up I am kind of inclined to either say that this is BS or the krawler is going to be on its lid in the first 15 minutes.

They added some high compression springs. I'll have some video from today's innovation day at JSC including the robotic arm working posted here shortly.
