i did talk to a guy
he done RC Crawling more than 10years now and he had over 20 different rigs.

Best buy is Vanquish portal or straight 389-419us only for a kit.
You can choose overdrive on the drive and DIG also.
This kit is the best choise if you are hardcore scale crawler he says.
Note it needs 3pc normal size servos

Given the price point this builders kit is more appealing to me than the Axial or Element. If the Axial had the trans with the separate motor mounting plate, the non 1 piece AR44 axles, and metal shock bodies they could charge closer to 3 bills for it and it would sell like mad.

I’m currently deciding on my next rig and the Phoenix straight axle kit is in my top few and most likely my next, but this builders kit has me thinking about maybe going this route……. I love a new build but hate trying to narrow it to one kit. Lol

^Honestly not much.

If you want, there are machined gears for the trans, lovely anodised shock parts and the metal motor mount. Stock is plastic, but very thick and rigid.

If you're getting the builders kit, know that you need 3x 20 mm servo horns. Don't get ones that are any longer or have weird offsets.

The builders kit also doesn't have the front wheel arches and bumpers. So I would say probably those are necessary unless you like your rig to look weird.

Wheels up to you.
