Does Corally make a Plaid foam tire or a dual compound front foam tire?
#3
Yes we currently have Plaid, Purple, Double Purple, and Pink Sedan Tires. They are available in 26mm and 30mm. Other sizes and compounds are being looked at. I just use a 30mm and cut it down to 28mm for racing. I have also used the 26mm alot on large high speed tracks with good success as they have a lower rotating mass. The compounds come out a little softer than that of Jaco and TRC. Only about 1-2 shore ratings. They also have a diffrent look than that of a dish wheel that many are getting tired of. Retail price is $22.00 U.S. for the plaid and $20.00 U.S. for the rest.
Here is a pic. of what they look like.

Corally Gold foam
I've bought some Corally gold rear foam doughnuts for my 1/12 car. Why isn't the foam wide enough? When I glued them to the Jaco rims i couldn't get full witdh, almost 5mm were missing...

tps, I believe that the Jaco rims are 1.5 inches which would equal 38.1mm The Corally rear wheels are 36.5mm This may be why. I don't have any Jaco wheels to measure to make sure, nor have I mounted any Corally foams to other wheels. The foam that you bought should be 36.5mm or greater. Sorry I don't have the exact answer

I bought a set of your foam tires for a race this last weekend and I was very dissapointed. I bought plaids for the front and purples for the rear, both 26mm width. After just one heat the rear tires began to chunk badly. By the time I finished my main, both of rear tires were pretty much gone. These were used on a Losi XXX-S G+ running a stock motor on a tight carpet track. This is very dissapointing to me after spending close to $40 for these tires. Anything you can do/suggest?
Thanks,
Robert

Did you true them down? Also how many times did you hit the boards?

Yes, I did true them down. No, I did not hit the boards that much.

Rubber tires
Jantle- What corally tire would you recommend for a smooth concrete track. Temperature can go 30 - 40 degrees C. Thanks.

I thought this forumn was monitorered by Corally company representatives? I would appreciate some response from JANTLE or others as to why these tires literally fell apart on me.
Thanks,
Robert

Gatormech,
Your post was not taken lightly. There has been action on my part as well as Corally USA and Corally in Holland regarding your post. I Personaly tore apart 20 tires to inspect the glue process after your post. No major defects were found. However, we have discussed ways to make the tires better. There are a few diffrent glues that I am going to test as well as diffrent ways to prep the wheel before mounting the tire. Your situation is being worked on and an update will be given when things develop. An added extra tip on high bite tight carpet tracks is to run a bead of CA glue along where the foam meets the wheel. The high bite and high cornering forces add stress to the seam. Also inspect your tires every run to combat any lifting that may be starting. A little lift will turn into big problems in less than 5 min. If you would like to discuss this further you can call Rob or Ken at Corally USA (407) 681-5905 or e-mail at [email protected]
