Ug! I already said I would help, but if you guys have it covered then awesome.
You really only need about four people to coordinate the effort. Usually one person takes the point and the others help to fill in the gaps.
Flier needs to be built and posted
Build Shirt design and coordinate printing and sizing
Thread in the On-Road section needs to be built and marketed
Line up tech guys for Saturday and Sunday
Line up a dedicated announcer for the race
Design awards and have them created
Define classes and document the rules for each class and post them after the committee has agreed
Coordinate someone to photograph the event
Post race write and submission to RC news sources
Define and organize pitting
Define a layout for the race
Coordinate a track cleaning effort before the event
Entry and money collection
Find sponsors for the race and try to organize some give a ways
Build the heats and organize the racing flow for the event
Define and document the race schedule
Select tires and get them to the race
Mark and Document the tire allocations for each driver and each class
Get concessions refilled
Work on getting our race in the featured section on LiveRC!
Update our website post race with the results and information about the race
I am sure I am missing some items, but these are just the high level tasks that have been done in the past...a lot of work goes into each of these areas and I would be happy to drive it. I have done it before and it is something I like to do.

Another RadioCoast incident?
I'll handle the online media stuff and any other little tasks as time allows.

Let me know when we're ready to move forward with the thread. I'll work with Joe to get some pics and put together a stellar first post. I'll need to know how many bodies we can handle in our space, 'cause we could very possibly need to limit entries. I might throw together a quick online signup page on our site so people can reserve their spot. Perhaps we should setup a club PayPal address so people can pay us ahead of time?

sorry, art. i did not mean to leave you out. ok, art, me, joe, and joey will head up the race coordination. we will meet at the track one night and get it squared away. we need to do so quickly, so we can get the opening post in the thread to contain as much info as possible.

Your Facebook effort is fantastic, Sam, thank you.
In this case, I was thinking of something a little bit more advanced that would give us a database to track entries, classes, t-shirt sizes, transponder numbers, and anything else we might require for signups. It would also allow use to create a dynamic list of entries online for all to see.

If you guys want/need sponsors on the flier then I need the logos and commitments from those companies ASAP.

Sorry Sam, that came out way more patronizing and condescending than I meant it to. I really do think the Facebook work is outstanding. It's linked on our page now by the way, but it's at the bottom because when I put it in the side menu it blew out the margins of the whole page. I need to revisit that. Maybe on top of the news section instead.

I'll be driving to Kansas City Tuesday, so I can't make it. If you guys could finalize some info for me, I can make some headway during the holiday.. I need to know:
Max entries. (Bodies, not classes?)
T-shirt sizes.
Classes.

Adam, Sam, or Art if you want the RAW version of any of these let me know.
I really struggled to capture the cars for some reason. The camera wasn't grabbing focus on them in auto and in manual it was a pain to set focus and then hope a car drove through that in-focus area. I will bring the camera on Tuesday and see if I can get some better shots of the cars. Not using flash also makes this quite tricky while a race is going on.
