$...we aren't even fully funding our lease obligation. It seems irresponsible to buy a want when you can't even pay for a need, but hey, this is America.

[QUOTE=bkspeedo;10191316]How do you guys deal with the dust the gets on the carpet from the dirt track? I'm assuming there in the same room. Other tracks I've been that do this and don't have a very large on-road crowed have major issues with traction.[QUOTE]

You are correct, one big area with off road on one side and carpet on the other with the drivers stand between them. Day to day dust from the track isn't much of an issue since the off road track is a clay/sand mixture. It's after they build a new off road track or they use the carpet track for additional pit space and dirt gets tracked all over it that we have issues. In those instances we will take the shop vacs out and hit the track a few times a week until it comes around again. We are usually back up to speed in a week after it gets used for pit space and a couple of weeks after the track change. Unfortunately it's another week or two after that when we can actually pass cleanly since the groove tends to be very narrow as we first get it going.

True That. Just trying to take it to the next level MF.

!!!!DOTS FOR LIFE!!!!

We do have a great track and the reason i make the trek 2-3 times a week putting more miles on my car then I want to and spending an ungodly amount of money on gas each month but it's worth it to race against some of the best and be in a great facility.

Well it was a question and not a statement that we should be doing something, especially something irresponsible... But I guess that’s an answer?

Well anyway ... I don’t have the time or interest in getting worked up about all this. I figure I would help, and would ask some questions along the way.

It's amazing how much more fun I have repairing broken cars than I do trying to figure out the rather random dynamics of this club

........ to both of you.

i have the answer. the new mexico track is taking up their carpet in lieu of dirt. they are selling the hd carpet and click track. i am going to buy it and open my own track. if you have ever been in support of dots, your will not be invited.

all kidding aside, that is true. $5000 delivered. 48 x 80, and click track (double track pack). another carpet track going down the shitter. think about that next time you want to complain. sad.

Joe-

I would not read into it too much...it is a Type A personality thing...Has less to do with being right then it does convincing others that you are in fact right.

I am in the boat that there is always room for improvement and others are not. Ignoring things is just as bad and trying to make a big issues out of little issues.

At the end of the day I want to try and make things better, but it will always be a fight with certain people. Even simple things are hard to get consensus on...

People don't want drama they want a fun place to race...

No one locally is quite as good as they think they are, so I am not sure why we all pretend like we are.

Pissing contests only lead to wet floors...and lately all we have is wet floors.

I am not sure why we spend so much time trying to tear each other down, but to be honest it kind of gets old. I understand your frustration, but I care and I want to make it work even when people just want to stomp around and show boat.

I think a lot of people have a lot of value to add to the club and when people dismiss every idea that people come up with it makes you wonder.

I cannot make you come out and race but I hope that you do stick it out. We need more people like you in the club that have value to add and are always trying to come up with solutions. Sometimes it takes a while to show people the light and other times it never goes anywhere. We used to have 2x4's double stacked as our boards and it took a long time and a lot of convincing to get people to consider change. People had the same excuses then as they do now...nothing really changes.

To say we don't have issues is clearly not true, but I think when people get as attached and as passionate they get defensive about their position when questioned.

Are conditions at the track bad? no, but that does not mean that they cannot be improved. We have a great group that need to just step back and stop all of the bickering. Is everything just fine? No, the dryness of our climate simply leads to lower grip. If we can fix this we should try. We are never going to have high traction, but consistent traction is I think the goal.

People need to have say and we need to discuss them as adults instead of just saying no and stomping off mumbling. I am used to being blown off at this club and I have come to accept that. I have dumped thousands of dollars into it because I believe in the racing and I love it. Sometimes the people make it difficult, but you either accept that or move on. I chose to suck it up and enjoy the ride to the best of my ability.

I am here to race little toy cars on a couple of pieces of carpet...sometimes I forget that and let this kind of crap ruin my perspective. Don't let the negativity of a couple of people stop your enjoyment.

I will be out as soon as I can tomorrow to try and have fun racing toy cars! I hope you can join me!

We can bicker about air flow and humidity at the track in between some racing.
