FYI, if anyone in the club is buying MHIC batteries and was looking at the ProMatch IP 7800's, I just got 2 in.

They are pretty flat (for an IP) but there is no air space in the pack at all, so I am curious how flat they will stay. They weigh in at 328gm not the 317 that the website says. So about 10gm more than the older SMC 7200's I ran, but lighter than many of the other 7500+mAh packs out there.

Nominal voltage of the batteries I got were 3.85v/cell with IR ~ 2.4 for both cells on both packs. Not bad for $89 batteries compared to the $130 you pay for others. I haven't run them yet, but figure I'd share since I know a few people were looking at them and were curious what the real specs and weight are.

You know... sharing info publicly to help others in the club on our forum...

Hey Joe. Fyi if you didn't know, a good 2 cell pack should measure Ir in the 1 to sub 1 Mohm range per cell. My ORCA packs with 100+ runs on my 308B charger measure 1 Mohm just like they did when they were new. My guess is there actually less the 1 Mohm but the iCharge 308 doesn't measure less than 1. This is were the new 4010, 408, & 308duo have an advantage.

When you measure Ir make sure you use the balance plug, the pack is at room temp, the plugs are clean and the shorts you have to get the most accurate result.

On that note the Pro-Match IP packs are good, they're true IP packs which is what most of the best brands use today with there wrapper around it.

Thanks Brent. Yeah I am going off the promatch number, next time at the track lets put them on your charger. I thought the IR sounded high, maybe a difference in testing methods?

Brent, from what I gather from ProMatch the IR reading they put on the package after testing are actually the combined pack mOhm reading. So 1.2mOhm is the tested per cell reading for these packs (which is inline with what these new packs should be it sounds like).

From doing some IR testing reading, it sounds like measurements are able to be all over the map based on chargers and testing methodology.

Hey Everyone - I need some advice.....

I am replacing the bearings in my Reedy Mach II motor. The bearing that seats into the can (where the shaft exits the motor) is a very tight fit. I ruined the new bearing trying to hand press it into place.

Can anyone share any tips or tricks to get this bearing in?

My next move, unless someone responds with a better idea, will be to press fit it into place with a small "C" clamp.

Thanks,
Nick
