I heard there wasn't a set standard for 3D yet. Like the blu-ray/HD-DVD wars of the last few years, one standard will win out. And those who bought the wrong system too early will, unfortunately, lose out.

The only thing that seems to be proprietary is the 3D glasses, Sony Tv's have to use Sony glasses, Samsung Tv's have to use Samsung glasses etc. As for the format, all Blu-ray DVD players need to update from the web so any type of change can be handeled through a software update. My machines update 1x per 1-2 months. Currently there are a handfull of 3d blu-ray DVD's out and they will play on any 3D Blu-ray DVD player. Its not like the Blu-ray/ HD-DVD issue that happened last year these players can update firmware and software.

I thought the PS3 was the only player capable of updating to 3D via firmware.

Any machine that says it's 3d ready meNs it need an upcoming software update. My samsung machine just updated last week. The Sony maching is waiting for an update that's due out any time now and most other high end machines like denon, marantz etc need an update that is coming out soon.

When my dad got our LED tv I looked really wierd to me because it was so realistic, and I started looking at real things at a different perspective, was kinda trippy but now im used to it.

It does take a little bit to get use to it. I know what you mean.

Yeah I know what you mean. Its sort of hard to describe, but the tv's clarity is so impressive that when you watch it, it makes things look strange at first until you get used to it.

Sadly, I am not able to see 3D. Most people like me can have surgery to correct it but mine cannot be fixed.

I'm cursed to walk the earth seeing a double vision of red and blue.

Anyone care to ring in on this?
I just purchased the exact same TV and its kind of distracting because the picture is so good

I want to thank everyone who's buying the 3D TV's..cuz by the time I'm ready to buy one the technology should be a lot better..not that it's bad, it should be a little farther along, so thanks..

I personally think that the whole 3d thing is a fad and will fade away... Like other people were saying, who wants to have glasses on while watching a movie. Watching a movie in 1080p is good enough for me!!!!
