Wow, I haven't read this thread in awhile. All this
talk about roar rules in regards to classes motors and batteries being roar approved, I think some of the other rules have been ignored...

Everyone "should" be prepared to have their cars teched to roar rules including having the motors disassembled to check for anything illegal. Wing height, body height and track width also. It's been a few years since I've raced a roar race but This shouldn't be an issue seeing that everyone had 9 weeks plus to prepare for this season.

On another note since we're going so deep into roar rules I vote that all tracks must be roar and all members have memberships with roar.

Well it took me a little while to find the wcics rules, there should be a easier way to find it. It is hard trying to decipher this thread, much clearer now.

Since registration closes at 9:00 this gives one hour to setup the heats, sort discrepancies, host a drivers meeting and show off you paint schemes! Sounds about right to me.

Default Hotels

Did the Edmonton club secure any rates with any hotels around the track?

Ramada Conference Center?

Thanks Greg G

Should be a great race this weekend.

Yes being first race, you're probably right, there could be a few issues to resolve in registration.

Greg,

I don't recall any group rates for Ramada Conference Center.

Default Help Please...

Anyone have by any chance bearings in the following size:

1/8 x 5/16 x 9/64 (non-flanged)

There are the bearings for 12th scale front tires.

If anyone got a set (2) or more, please let me know and I'll get them off you at the race.

Looking forward to some racing this weekend!

Hey Wayne,

Just wondering if Mandie is running the races again this year? She did an awesome job on the mic last year. Hope she gets to run a few classes herself this time. I'm bringing Susan up this year to race in Mini and GT and I hope she's not the only female running. Kevin, is Sonya up for some racing?

She will be running the race this weekend, although I dont believe she will be running any classes. I'd love to get her setup with mini/GT but it pretty much died in Edmonton and we dont run those classes.

Come on Wayne, you've must have a few old chassis lying around, just need a brushed speedo, silver can, non touring car body and old pair of rubber tires. Take you 10 minutes to put it together? Incidentally, the Ruptash's (Dale and Carl) do have the VTA cars and they occasionally come down to Calgary to run them. Hopefully seeing them run this weekend in the GT class may spark some interest in your club. There were also a few Edmonton guys running the mini last year and I think they had a great time!
